Yeah, those 2010 dolls just scream CHEEEEEAAAAP I think is the problem.  Same exact mold for all three, same blank expression, no accessories whatsoever.

But their boots are pretty awesome...!

I actually didn't mind their heads but yeah I think I remember thinking they were too expensive for what they were. I wonder if the Liv rebody treatment would work if I ever managed to get my hands on one cheap.

I hope they don't change Starlite too much. I thought he was beautiful and elegant.

Yeah, I knew about the '10 reboot but I never saw them in stores.  I looked, too!

I did not even know that they tried to bring it back. I did not see it when I was little either. I think that I might of seen one. But I was into ponies, micro machines and was in dance. I hope they keep it close to the 80's as possible.

MLP was my main toy as a little girl...but the one thing which could occasionally beat them out was RB. My RB treasury which I still keep in my library is the tattiest book you will ever come across it was read again and again and again...oh and then again.

This was the 2010 relaunch-  oddly enough, Hallmark has not ever updated their site so there are still pictures around.. and even some "animations" that are so bad they look like a student did them...

I don't think the style of the dolls is terrible, it just isn't what I think of as Rainbow Brite and the color kids.  THe relaunch was more like Rainbow Brite and a couple color tweens...

The 2015 relaunch doesn't have to look exactly like the original to make me happy, but I just want the color kids to be KIDS- not tweens or teens. 

I'd love it if they redid the animation in an anime style kind of like Sailor Moon Crystal-  or even like MLP:FIM.  Just... not teenagers, please.

It seems so weird to me that they are already working on the animation and we don't even know who has the license to make the toys yet.  I can't imagine they would re-release the cartoon without a merchandise line, although I guess it's possible...

At the time of the relaunch there were hints that the Color Kids were on the way but the line never lasted long enough for that to happen.

I'm fine if they are older kids. If they make them too young they will only appeal to preschoolers because kids today don't want anything to do with something about kids younger than themselves. And toy competition in the preschool age group is brutal. Honestly I like the 2010 relaunch designs better than the 90s ones even tho the 90s one kept them kids. The only thing that kept me from loving the 2010 relaunch was those awful animations. If they had an actual well animated show using the new designs I would have been super happy.

OMG YAY!!! I watched the old one growing up on VHS at my grandas!! My aunt Olga has one of the original dolls with the yarn hair! I really hope they make some new dolls!!! I didnt care for the new gen Rainbow Bright.

Wow! It's interesting that they're bringing Rainbow Brite back. I haven't heard much about it recently, and I'm VERY excited! I just love the dolls they had and I can't wait for the possibility of a new incarnation in the future
