Ha ha ha, Eluluu, yes it is time    I sure can't wait to see this swap's photos...at the finish...

I painted one of the eyes yesterday, it was nerve wracking as always but it turned out well!  I'm taking a break for a few days because it is a busy busy time at my work(s).  I just HAD to volunteer for extra teaching, field trips, meetings, etc.  I couldn't help myself

I just might but its not something difficult or specific to this one custom. All I want to know is how do I make it not have fingerprints. Do i have to sand it or something? For clothing - how do you make the clay look like one full shirt or pants and not like I stuck a bunch of peaces of sculpty on the pony?


Also the extra I ordered arrived from hong Kong today. Nothing too exciting, just a mini figure to go with the custom.

Finished my first custom, now for the second.

Fingerprints: wet your fingers with water and smooth them away when youre done sculpting, wetting a qtip or strip of paper towel to "floss" tighter areas works well too.

Sand when it cures to help smooth it even more.

What kind of clay are you using?  You can smooth it out with a little water, you can use a tool like the back of a spoon, you can sand it with very fine sandpaper.

Can you send me a picture?  I'd say you should try to focus your pieces similarly to natural shirt hems.  That way even though it will be separate pieces and look like separate pieces, the place where the two meet will just look like a stitched hem.

I started my FBR today, but I'm having to strip the paint off already. Something weird happened and the paint is breaking/separating as it dries so it looks very splotchy O.o I suppose in the grand scheme of things I rather have problems at the start and not towards the end, lol.
