We Love Fine Nightmare Moon Figure

I really love the coins. No interest in the figure though. Not because I don't collect Luna but just because the sculpt is.. off somehow. I don't know. That face/mane don't sit well with me.

I think her mane is translucent.  Check out the picture from the side/back angle and you can see a shadow of her ear through her mane.

What's the matter with WeLoveFine?

They tend to re-release their "limited edition" items and make many variations of them. Also, if I'm not mistaken, they don't have their own designs, but use fan art and don't pay the artists that much. I believe there has been something with Hot Topic and them?
And they ship international orders late.

I hate the figurine. It's awfull.

If it was actually like that I'd want it. But this figurine's a mess.
1. It doesn't respect the style. A huge minus!
2. The pose isn't dynamic at all. Rather stiff and plain. It's missing the movement.
3. The mane is too solid looking. And flat.
4. I'm not even sure if it comes with a cutie mark. The picture featuring it is clearly photoshopped.
5. The overall look of it is really sloppy. Like the sculptor didn't really think about what he was doing. Just look at the horn and muzzle.
6. I don't think the artist had anything to do with this figurine.

The coins are pretty though.

I think she's pretty cool. I've been passing on the WLF figures though... most of them are nice but I can't afford to collect them.

I preordered one, I cant pass up villians! I love NMM plus I wanted the coin. I think the figure looks alright, kind of chibi-esque. No anthro too! I just hope that they stop lying about their 'limited edition'  and ' no variant' stuff with their figures. I hope the figure is good quality, especially the coin! That coin is AWESOME!

i can see it now:
"Hey, remember that Celestia and Luna coins we offered if you pre-ordered our NMM figure? Well you guys loved them so much, we are gonna rerelease them again! $15 for a set of two coins! First 1,000 preorders will get them in a special limited edition sun/moon gradient case that has Celestia and Luna on it!"

I do like the coins a lot, more so that the figure itself. By the time I would have money to get her (Friday), I bet all the coins will be gone.
But I wouldnt be surprised if the release the coins at a later date, especially if they added a Cadance and Twilight coin for a four-coin set.

Ah, more than I would have preferred to pay for such a little figure (with such odd proportions!) but I can't resist Nightmare Moon! She's the queen of my herd! I really hope her mane is more translucent when she arrives, that would definitely be an improvement. Do you think I have still have a chance at the coin, since I'm a couple days late?

They are liars and are unapologetic about it.  I don't find the "search" feature on this site particularly good- but there IS a thread somewhere that documents and details the specific lies they have told. And they are lies too.  One example is they released a "limited edition of 600!" figure-  "sold only at Comic con!"  then "Second limited edition of 600, we the LAST you will ever see of her, to first 600 people who buy a load of t-shirts and ALSO pay for the figure!"
Once that sold out they released at least one more "limited edition" plus a couple of variants.   

THAT is why I have a problem with them.  I don't care if they have multiple "editions" of something, but don't lie for the purpose of artificially creating scarcity and thus higher sales because you've reconsidered and want to make a few more bucks.  That is so not cool.

I also don't love that they pay artists some measly amount (what is it now, $50?)  for their gorgeous designs that they make MILLIONS from.  But ultimately I have less of an issue with that because although they are taking advantage of young artists, ultimately it is up to the artist whether they want to essentially give their design away, and also I can actually see the appeal of having one's design made into thousands of shirts for people all over the world to wear, when the design would otherwise not be seen by more than a handful of people. It would be nice if the shirts also provided a credit to the artist somewhere (so the artist could get some exposure) but I guess if someone were really diligent, they could probably search that artist up if they wanted.

This figure is a hyper stylized interpretation of a character that is already hyper stylized. It doesn't bother me much. 

Bubble Muffin was a well-made figurine; I just wish that WLF hadn't lied up and down about its availability. I expect that this one will have the same quality. Overall, part of me wants it, but the other part of me is still mad at WeLoveFine.
