Okay, you know how we have those content laws where 30% of the content has to be Canadian?

Do your music stations make that 30%... all Nickelback?

Or am I in a personal hell.

The local stations I listen to don't play much Nickelback at all.  At least, not when I'm listening.
Thank you to SquarePeg for my beautiful avi.

OMG...time to get XM radio!! Love that thing :) but honestly, the radio station that has renewed my love or real, old-timey radio is BOOM 97.3 out ot Toronto! It is THE best station...our local ROCK 95 plays the same songs over and over, and I've found that with most stations, but with BOOM, different songs, different artists, music I actually forgot that I love! Try tuning in through your computer. It plays 70's, 80's and 90's music, and i've NEVER heard the same song in 3 months of listening!

They played "Der Kommissar" from the 80's on it about an hour ago...the non-Americanized version!

Haha, I don't have a choice. It's not my radio and the person whose radio it is doesn't want to switch. I'm stuck with local.

I happen to LIKE Nickelback o.0

As far as your question goes, no, they do not play nickelback all the time. Infact they rarely do at all.

Regardless of my original feelings on the band, 30% of every hour is too much of any band for me.

I obsessively listen to Q107 which is classic rock, therefore there is a LOT of Rush but no Nickelback.  I don't really like 8 minute-songs by anyone, so I can I understand how you feel!

I listen to 97.7 HTZ FM or 102.1 The Edge and although Nickelback is played sometimes, it's definitely not a lot. There's obviously bands like Hedley, Blessthefall, Rush, Our Lady Peace, Three Days Grace, Billy Talent, Econoline Crush, Bleeker Ridge, Theory of a Deadman etc.

I thought Theory od a Deadman WAS Nickleback  JK...I see/have seen all those guys live at some point...that's the only way i can tolerate more than an hour of one band. I can't even listen to a CD all the way through otherwise!

*feels a little dated as she has no iPod and still has a raft of CD's in her car*

I understand that, but if you read others posts, you will see that one specific band isn't being played 30% of every hour ;)

Actually, our local rock station plays more of the classic stuff with a bit of new stuff thrown in.

Im SICK of hearing things like the beetles, even if its not the same song ;)

No, I was just explaining why I didn't like Nickelback anymore, not ignoring the other replies.

I used to have a ton of cds in my truck, back when I had a 7-cd player. AND THEN MY TRUCK BLEW UP. Sort of. One wheel blew up, but it sent the car flipping into a ditch where it was completely totaled. And the new truck only had room for one cd so I switched over to satellite radio. I mostly listen to Alt Nation.

But ah, the heady days of going down the highway to the opening of Pirates of the Caribbean. That was great music to drive to.
