FOOOOOOOOOD!
« on: June 07, 2014, 06:21:22 PM »
Oh, GAWD I love food! I love the smell of food, the look of food, the texture, the taste, the IDEA of food! Unfortunately I'm trapped in flavourless sham of a relationship...my BF could honestly (and does!) eat the exact same thing everys day. He doesn't enjoy food the way I do and it's truly the only sticking point in an otherwise fantastic pair bond :) I have to enjoy all my succulent culinary delights alone unless I'm with my sister, who enjoys eating and trying new things as much as i do.
So tell me...what foods turn your crank? A sushi bento box? Indian curry? Pad thai? Some wildly exotic thing you and you alone can make? Tell me about new ways I can have my taste buds cheat on the bland sustainance of my day-to-day life...and a recipe would be AWESOME!

MMMM FOOD!!  I love it too, ha ha

Here is one of the weirdest-sounding yet most delicious dessert recipes I have:

Lemon Jell-o Ambrosia

1 3 oz package lemon jello powder
1 and 1/4 cup boiling water
8 oz cream cheese, softened/room temp)
8 oz can of crushed pineapple (do not drain)
1/4 cup chopped pecans

Dissolve jello powder in water.  Add cheese and whisk until well blended.  Stir in pineapple.  Chill until partially set.  Stir in pecans and chill until fully set.

You can use other than lemon jello, supposedly, but I have not tried it because it is sooo good as it is!

We have pretty basic menus, but do try some different ways to combine things. My fav is still hubby's stirfry - nothing fancy, but so yummy.

-cook Mr Noodles
-drain, dump in fry pan
-add cooked Green Giant veggie mix (we like the japanese mix, but have used others), and cooked chicken breast (or the pre-cooked chicken strips)
-add in garlic and soya sauce to taste
-fry, serve, enjoy

I'm a total foodie. I don't have the money or time to avoid pre-packaged food all the time but I do prefer to make my own food with decent ingredients. Squares of processed cheese-like product are not cheese. I need flavor too, bland food is no fun. I usually have some extra taco bell sauce packets around and use them when I have to eat packaged food. They'll cover up any bad flavor.

I love dumplings and noodles, especially when my best friend cooks them for me. Everything tastes 100x better when he cooks it.
I also love chocolate and sugar foods. I have such and awful sweet tooth :c
And fried chicken with mac n' cheese is my go to dinner.

I love food! My boyfriend can eat meatballs and macaronies all day everyday but I want variety and love to try new things..

I'll share my favorite salmon recepie. It's done in twenty minutes tops. I don't really use meassurements, I go by feeling.

Fry a handful of shrimps in butter and garlic. I love garlic so I usually use a lot.
When they're done, add spinach, frozen or fresh doesn't matter really. While it's shrinking/gets unfrozen, prepaire the salmon by putting the filées in a pan and season it to taste. I usually only put on lemonpepper. Put in oven for about ten minutes on 250 degrees celcius.

Time to add 2 dl creme fraiche in the shrimp spinachsause. I think it's about two thirds of a cup? Also some fresh ginger. Let it boil while stiring.

When salmon is ready, take it out, put on the sause and back in to the oven for five minutes. Take out and serve to mashed potatoes and a green sallad.

The sause in itself is also really good on pasta as well.

I like anything that can be doused in ketchup. I am a ketchup FANATIC. I love it on fried chicken. YUM!

I also really love seafood. I wish I lived by the ocean so I had access to very fresh seafood all the time. I really like shrimp and oysters.

Wow, that's amazing!  Everyone I give it to thinks it is so weird -_-  Glad to bring back some memories for you :)

Beldarna, that salmon recipe sounds delicious!  I love salmon, and spinach, so it sounds like I would enjoy it.
