Disney Villian designer dolls
« on: June 02, 2014, 08:38:57 PM »
I was a bit curious about these dolls. I was interested in them when thy came out but could never justify getting them. Then the Christmas after they came out they were still shelf sitters at the local Disney store and on sale. In all honesty I should have gotten them. They sold off really cheap, but I still said no since they were so very different than the villains in my head.

Still they have grown on me over time, and I feel like picking up one or two once I have the money. I was curious though if anyone has them? Are you pleased with them? I never got to handle any obviously since thy were kept in a case. Are they well made? How about the outfits?

I have one! I picked up Mother Gothel when she was $17.99 (after the 40% off discount) on the Disney Store website last August! She is very stunning and I am so pleased with her! She was the only one I picked up as I wasn't interested in them when they were first released and she was the only one still available. I pretty much picked Mother Gothel up because of how cheap she was! She is also the cheapest out of the whole set in regards to the second-hand market. If I were to get anymore I would probably get the Evil Queen and Maleficent, but I'm content with just Mother Gothel. I have the next set of Designer Couples to focus on this coming August-ish. Haha!

I'm really pleased with the quality and I think they are extremely well made!

I have Maleficent and the Queen of Hearts.  I love both of them and their outfits are GORGEOUS.  I've never taken them out of their boxes because they display beautifully in their clear cases.

Maleficent is my absolute favorite Disney character, and I was excited when the dolls came out, but there is no way I could justify $80 for a doll...

If I had unlimited funds (LOL), I would have bought Ursula and Maleficent. I think those two are stunning.

i have maleficent , ursula and  evil queen!!!   I splurged on these gals when they came out and got evil queen and maleficent , then my friend bought me ursula when she was on sale !!

I LOVE these gals!!  they are very beautiful and well put together. I happen to like that they  look a bit different then there  disney villian counter parts..
I think disney often makes there villans  less  pretty and a little goofy.  Maleficent is  my FAVOURITE  ( doll and  disney movie villian)
I would have gotten the whole set , as i  think how they have been re-imagined is  very classy and beautiful!

I still really want cruella but probably won't get her.   I am suprised that there was less interest in these as i think they are really unique!

My only complaint is i wish ursula had tenticles!  I am not one who cares that she went to a diet LOL

I have my Ursula and Maleficent, and I love them completely! I also keep mine strictly for display, so I can't really speak to how they handle, but on Ursula their arm articulation is visible at least - shoulder, elbow, and wrist.

This is going to sound silly, but it really bothers me that they made Ursula thin for these sets. I was so excited to see her and then died a little inside when I did. I know they probably all use the same body and molds and such, but still. :c

I was sad to see that too. I love Ursula- and making her thin basically said that they couldn't make her fabulous and beautiful and fat, which is simply not true.  The doll didn't sell well and I'm positive that is why-  why would anyone who loves Ursula want a skinny version?

She looks more like Morgona from the second TLM movie.

That's what I was thinking. I was looking forward to seeing her, then meh. I do love her hair and face though. That Mother Gothel is gorgeous!

Thanks! She and Ursula are both Funko POP! Figures. :) I think I got these two from Barnes and Noble online, but they're available lots of places, including Amazon and the Disney Store (in person at least).
