From where I am the trains are pretty expensive but there is one of the normal Xsomething buses going - might be worth looking into that... Or sneakily ask if someone else from your area is going by car and could do with someone to share petrol costs ;-)

I'm in Basildon Essex but nobody I know is going. If anyone was going by car I'd happily pay petrol to tag along. I wouldn't even know how to get a train to the con from here

Hey, I just looked it up for you, it's 2 changes going through London and tickets quite expensive on this route for some reason, but you might be able to get cheaper advance tickets.

The bus station isn't a million miles away either... further than the train station, but still walkable

you wont be the only one travelling over from Germany - we usually have a small group of "Germans" attending (including me ;-) but I dont need to fly over this time)

I am going to try and come but I really won't no until probably the month before lol as it depends on work and what my boyfriend is doing as he is moving to the UK around that time  fingers crossed i can work it out if not look forward to seeing all the pictures

dude, i live near stansted airport (no i'm not catching the plane, lol, ) i've booked coach tickets on national express cos i *really* didn't want the agro of driving & leaving my car there, BUT, if you wanted to travel on the coach with me you'd be more than welcome to leave your car at mine my dad's dropping me at stansted as the coach leaves from there, its a direct route to leicester, i think there's a couple of stops in luton and somewhere else, but THERE'S NO CHANGES OF BUS, thats what freaked me out about going on the train (my direction sense is hiddeous )

I don't drive (though I have plans to start doing so this year, better late than never!) so I will be going to Leicester by train. I highly advise people planning to use trains to book their tickets at least a month in advance, as it makes the prices a lot cheaper ^^

Leicester rail station is very handy for people staying at the venue hotel (or indeed at the Premier Inn) as it takes only about five minutes to walk to the Mercure from the station. The Premier Inn is even closer, and on the direct walking route to the venue, so they're both really handily placed this year (always a bonus).
