Dewdrop Dazzle's with different hair colours?

So I ordered a new Dewdrop Dazzle to replace my old one with a mane/tail cut. However when I compared them, my older one seems to have much lighter pink hair than the new one. I checked Strawberry Reef and there were two different versions of her, one with a different hair pattern, but nothing is mentioned about colour and both of these have the same hair pattern. Anyone know why this is? Could mine have faded and I didn't even notice?

I'm no expert on G4s, but my guess would be that that pink in her hair is "fading pink", and you just didn't realize that your old Dewdrop got a bit of sun. Otherwise it might be a manufacturer's error.

I thought fading could be the cause but she hasn't been in the sun much so I can't be sure. Maybe she's been in the sun more than I realised! Hadn't thought of it being an error  Thanks

My Dewdrop has always had light pink hair and I got her brand new. I never thought anything about it until now.

Yeah, that's the fading pink. It doesn't need all that much sun to fade unfortunately. I would guess it could even happen before it's purchased.

It don't need to be fading pink to fade guys. Fading pink is a tad fluorescent so it looks like it has a tad of orange in it, the new g4s dont have that in their pink hair.

I have noticed that of the pink in my Dewdrop Dazzle's mane has started to fade, so it's possible that yours has faded too.

My Dewdrop Dazzle still has that pink hair on the left. My ponies don't get any direct sunlight.

Pinks and reds dont like sunlight or UV of any kind unfortunately. Any shade of pink is therefore going to fade significantly over time - speed depending on how much she is exposed poor little pony!

Its quite cute to have them both so different though!

WOW! That is pretty sad if G4 ponies are fading already! I might have to go and look at mine.

Well, yes, any color can fade, but fading pink can fade in just a few weeks, faster than the others. And are you sure G4s don't use it? That first pictures certainly looks like it to me.

Yes . . . or even less.  I purposely faded a G3 Desert Rose once (for a custom) by putting her out in the summertime sun.  I couldn't BELIEVE how fast her hair faded.  In about four days her hair was off-white.  In six days it was pure white.  Right down to the roots!

Of course it depends how strong the sunlight is, is the pony in direct sunlight, etc.

But since it's really the UV rays that fade the hair (I think), even indirect natural light can do it, I think.

I had no idea Desert Rose had pink hair! Mine has white hair! I prefer her that way though

I dont know if she had faded hair or not.. i DO know that my two dew drops have VERY different hair.
the first one i got was the one in the box by her self.. she has lighter pink hair.. and a slightly different pattern.
the Dew drop i got in the costco set has darker pink  hair and a SLIHGTLY different pattern .. i think your new DD is from the cost co set!
check the date on her  hoof for me will you? the cost co one says 2013
the individual one will say 2012
also if you look at their horns.. there should be a very slight differance.. but the one from the cost co set has a slightly smaller horn.
i think its a new head mold too!

Both of mine say 2010! And my original one I purchased myself in a toyshop in 2011 so that would make sense
