Do old Pokemon games sell well?
« on: May 22, 2014, 10:09:04 PM »
I was debating selling mine, but the prices on Ebay are all over the places.  I don't want to get rid of my really old ones, but I thought about putting Silver, Crystal and Sapphire up. Does anyone know a general good price they bring?

Yes, I know.

Silver in the Uk is hard to price, as it's price fluctuates a
Lot but a minimum should sensibly be £11, since I've never seen it sell below that.
Crystal, the same, I'm after it, but I think I'm being traded it!
Sapphire isn't as old, and is fairly common, so £6 min, £11 max really.

Good luck!

On the odd chance the save files still work on Silver/Crystal, you may be able to get a little more for them.
I'd also say that Crystal might net you in a few more pounds, perhaps around £15. I've seen it reach as much as £30 just for the cartridge!

I think it depends on whether it saves or not still too. I wouldn't mind picking up a working copy of Silver.

The memory eventually goes. My Gold version doesn't hold a save reliably any more as I uhm, kinda played it to death. Also - check to see if the internal battery in Sapphire still works (this affects whether berries grow/the weather changes, and other things).
Idly searching for: loose, good condition G4 Blossomforth, Starbeam Twinkle, Plumsweet. TTM Celestia doll's wings Within UK or EU only, please.
Will also take in Pretty Pony Club (UK magazine) fakies.

I'll look them over when I dig them out. Lol all my games were only played once though and last I checked they were fine. :)

I'm unsure if the internal battery issue is an age thing or if it's affected by the number of times played; I definitely recall it happened to my Ruby version, but unsure if it happened to my Sapphire or not :)

Since the remakes will be coming out soon I believe many are interested in replaying the R/S/E games though. Would not surprise me if the prices for those started to raise for a while. Crystal is almost always a popular game especially if the saving feature still works!

I don't follow game prices, but there's many counterfeits of the GBA games (RSE, FRLG) so you might be able to get more for a real copy.

GSC copies have an internal battery that's responsible for the saves; when it goes, so does the save file. (It is replaceable, iirc.) RSE also have one, but I think it might just affect the clock (so nothing time-based would occur).

I'm pretty sure they sell well, though; definitely worth a try!

If your Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald's internal battery dries up, the game tells you when you start up your file. It just says that time-based events, such as growing berries (and I assume catching certain pokemon), will no longer work.
It happened to my Sapphire a few months back.
Thank you so much for the adoptable, Corona! :D
