Is there a offcial name for ponys toys (g4) that dont appear in the show

I Was looking at my pony collection and woundering what they call them?I dont think theres an offcial name for them.
what do you call /refer to them as.

I've seen the term "HasbrOC" (Hasbro + OC, standing for "original character"), but I think it's mostly a negative term to undermine new characters just because they didn't come from the TV show.

I use HasbrOC without any bad will. I quite like some of them. Honeybuzz and Flitterheart are great.

I'v heard of the term hasbrOCs before only once but dont really like the name.

I've never heard of a name for them before.  Historically, the majority of ponies were never featured in a cartoon.  And by "historically", I am referring to G1-G3.  G4 is a somewhat different creature.

Toys? Sorry , I don't equate ponies with the show. The toys have always been a separate entity for me. All the concentration of trying to shoe the toys into perfect show character slots defeats the purpose of imagination that ponies were created from.

I think HasbrOC carries exactly as much negative connotation as you choose to associate with it, and no more. In my case, none, but mileage may vary.

honestly? I dont think they HAVE a name for them..
They just seem to be other characters.. according to hasbro 98% of those released as brushables HAVE been in the show even if it was a back ground shot.
the only ones i couldn't find were rainbow flash and starswirl ( MIGHT be why they are so bloody hard to find!!)
everyone else seems to have at least had a back ground or crowd shot..
They pretty much snuck every pegasi they could into hurricaine fluttershy. if you look close they are there some where.
most of the others are lurking in a crowd some where.

I never even considered whether or not they were in the show, honestly! I mean, have you seen how many ponies they put in some shots?! That's a lot of ponies, the possibility of none of the non-core pony toys not being in the show is nearly impossible. Blossomforth is mentioned by name, for one....and others were characters that the fans took a liking to or noticed more often because of a distinctive design, like muffin or Lyrica Lilac with her big poofy hair and scolding of Pinkie in "The Best Night Ever". I always liked to imagine where each might live, or what job they'd like, but looking for them or wondering if they were actually in the show never occurred to me.

They are just toys for me - being in the show or not being in the show has no relevance as far as I am concerned and therefore they dont get any kind of name.

I know its not meant to be but HasbrOC always feels weirdly derogatory or just an attempt to elevate fans OCs to some kind of status level. *shrug*

I dont think you have to worry about it - if you want to give them a name then go for it Its whatever makes you happy about your collection.

Yes, they are ponies.

In every generation we have ponies that do not occur anywhere but in pony toy form. They don't have to be called anything. They are just more ponies.  You can come up with your own backgrounds for them if you want.
