COMPLETE! Show Accurate Fashion Style Celestia & Luna

I finally finished my two custom fashion style princess ponies in more show accurate colors than their actual toy counterparts.

I really enjoyed making them! The rehairing process went MUCH faster this time than when I did my very first custom a while back.

So, here are Luna and Celestia... (I haven't trimmed or styled their hair yet, but wanted to post a pic anyway).  Thanks to all for looking!

Been wanting to do a white fashion style Celestia for a long time now, since the prototype ones are SOOOO costly.

I finally got a cheap bait pony and did the painting. Finished up the FBR, and hand painted eyes /cutie mark this afternoon. She's been sealed and is awaiting her new hair , also in show accurate colors.   

Also planning to do a show accurate FS Luna too.

Any other favorites from the show you'd like to see in FS form ?

Thanks, kat! Just need to order the hair and get her finished up.  That'll probably be a while, as I'm going to start on a couple of other FS customs w/brushable hair, and plan to make one big hair order.  (Planning on doing show accurate versions of Luna, Nightmare Moon, Cadance and Chrysalis also, all with brushable hair.)

In other news, I also finished prepping/sanding the base for her sister, Luna.  Will probably start painting her on Monday, once I figure out what color to choose as a basecoat.  I'm just happy to have the time and income to start working on customs, now that I've finished nursing school and have a job. =)

Soooo.... To glitter, or not to glitter? I have some irridescent white glitter that would probably look great on Celestia's wings and horn (like the Target Exclusive Princess 2-pack ponies), but I'm hesitant to use it on her.  Mostly because I'd forgotten how taken I am with white ponies.  She's just so white, sitting on the top of my WIP customs shelf. 

Also, I'm not sure what type of glue to use on her if I decide to add the glitter.  Any suggestions re: glitter/no glitter? And if glitter, what type of glue to use on the wings/horn/symbol? 

In other news, my custom FS Luna (Season 2 look) is getting painted tomorrow. I'm excited to see the two sisters together, in show accurate colors.  =)

Hmmmm... try glittering a white pony spare you have first and see how you feel! If you don't like it in a small amount, you probably won't like it on a bigger pony, y'know? You can also try different glue on different areas to test how it looks.

She's looking gorgeous! I personally dislike glitter but I reckon she'd look stunning either way, I can't wait to see her with hair.
I painted a spare Celestia white as well, except the previous owner had given her a haircut and my impatient painting could never compare to your smooth work.

Good advice! I was about to test out a patch of glitter sprinkled over some clear glue, and then realized I had some Folk Art Hologram glitter paint instead.  So, I used that on the outer side of Celestia's wings and horn. 

It's irridescent, and has microfine glitter in it.  It's pretty subtle.  I also used Folk Art Extreme Glitter in Champagne to glitter up her symbol, too.  Here's a quick pic, but the hologram/irridescent paint doesn't show up so well.

I also started on her sister, Luna, today.  Finally found just the right colors (in my opinion, at least) for her navy blue - purply coat.  Using this pic for inspiration:

This is how she's turning out after about two thin basecoats of paint (the flash/camera makes the color look more purple than she actually appears in real life).  She's actually more of a navy blue in color.

Luna looks good so far, and I like the glitter on Celestia! It's subtle enough to evoke the image of the sparkles that shine all over her mane...
