oh, what a day you had! maybe not exactly the "memorable" you were orignally planning, but I'm sure you don't mind (especially because it seems everyone was really positive and friendly there, like a big, understanding family).
reading your story made me tear up too - I'm so happy you were able to finally make it happen! and I'm also happy for everyone else who was there. I hope the world will sometime understand that you can't fight love, let it be towards a person of the opposite gender, or the same.

I am soooo so happy for you and your wife! That is a huge milestone and I am do glad you finally got to officially tie the knot! Goodness whoops I haven't been in here to reply. My friend that was kind enough to come show support had a stomach virus and the wife and I both got it. We haven't been in the best of moods.

I was told overall from the few days allowed they have over 500 couples (it might have been around 600 actually). Think about just how massive a number that is of people going to get married in just a few days!  Unfortunately they did put a stay on the ruling for now (but that was expected). Still, I know that the couples that also filed for rights to be included on the birth certificate of their children were able to get that taken care of (at least many of them did). Right now everyone is hopeful that once it comes back through things will settle out. They have not "thrown out" the marriages that were done, so we are still married as of now. I hope it stays that way.

I'll admit it was odd yesterday writing  "Mrs." in front of my name on the board for the kids. It felt nice though and has been a long time coming. Still there were sooo many couples that had waited longer. I know one woman that is friends with my wife fell into the group that had been waiting around 40+ years. It's only a matter of time, and I'm very excited.

It's also caused us to consider again children in the future. We kind put that thought aside years ago since with my dad being a lawyer and watching so many odd custody battles I never wanted a child that wasn't seen as both of ours.  Now though at least it looks like we can do that in the future. Between the feeling of dying due to my stomach bug I've been totally excited.

I'm so glad you guys were able to officially get married. As a married person myself, I know the feeling of saying those words, and signing that paperwork, and how freaking beautiful it is! I'm so grateful that I never had to face the struggles same-sex couples face, and have no idea how any married person (heck anyone in love at all) could deny anyone that joy - again so happy for you - I'm totally bawling happy tears for everyone that got through!
