Popular books you never want to read!

I've never held any compulsion to read the Harry Potter series dspite the rest of the world having gone nuts for it.

Mostly the newer things in the young adult sections. I'm sure they're interesting but I just have no urge to read them. At all.

Fifty Shades of Grey... it sounds so trashy! I'll pass The Twilight stuff wouldn't be for me either. I prefer vampires that don't sparkle.

Basically, anything anyone else tells me to read. I'm like that with a lot of things, not just books.

Twilight, hands down. And no desire for 50 shades, either. Other than that... well, it's important for my profession to be knowledgeable about literature trends, so that does mean sometimes reading books that are popular even if it is something I'm not particularly interested in. But I draw the line at twilight

The Twilight Series felt insipid to me, the 50 Shades books, from the snippets I've seen, seem really badly written and just offensively off-the-mark with romanticizing kink without informed consent.

I have no interest in Divergent, nor did I in Eragon, but have no strong negative feelings or anything.

And as for 'classic' books I couldn't get even a page into 'The Catcher in the Rye', despite having friends in high school and freshman year of college who raved about how meaningful it was.

Nope,  I'd read anything that seems interesting to me, no matter if it's popular or not.

The Hunger Games
The Chronicles of Narnia
Anything by Terry Pratchett
And basically any classic that is a highschool required-reading cliche (eg. The Catcher in the Rye, Shakespeare's works)

I'm ashamed to say that I read the entire Twilight series, but I found them boring and predictable and read them more as a passive aggressive compulsion because someone bought them for me as a gift.

On the other hand I made a point of reading The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Hobbit, and Nineteen Eighty-Four.

I will read just about anything once. There are some books that after the first hundred or so pages I still can't get into so they get set aside, but as an avid reader and someone who has tried writing many things many times in the past I'm willing to give any book/author a chance at least.
Unlike a lot of people I actually didn't think the Twilight series was all that bad, granted they aren't by any means classics or anything, but they made for an enjoyable weekend. *shrug*

I read everything even the books I dislike. That's just my nature though.

I can name a few books I really dislike
LOTR and the Twilight books. They were not fun for me, but I read them and tried to enjoy them.  I'm more of certain movies I won't watch like ever.

I've never read Lord of the Rings despite being a huge fantasy reader. I've no desire to read the Hunger Games and I watch Game of Thrones but don't read it.

The less said about my feelings towards the drivel Stephanie Meyer puts out the better

*I have read the Twilight series, Harry Potter series, Eragon, The Hobbit and The Chronicles of Narnia all when I was in High school.
I just find no interest in reading the newer book series at all.
