Prototype or fakie?
« on: April 15, 2014, 01:49:29 PM »
Hey everypony,

Anybody can help ID this gal? G3 pose, but not store release quality. Her hoof stamp says: 2002 Hasbro, Made in China. Her symbol is two all green tulips, she has a purple heart on the back of front left leg, and multi-colored eyes. I'd say knock off for sure, but her hoof says Hasbro...? Any thoughts?

Very curious indeed. My initial reaction was to say Dollar Tree fakie because they have released G3 mold fakies in the past but since it says Hasbro I'm pretty stumped. Unless some china manufacturing corp was brazen enough to stamp Hasbro when it was a knock off even  though that's copyright infringement so I don't know.  :what:

I did come across some G3 looking fakies from Save-a-Lot years ago that had actual Hasbro My Little Pony artwork on the boxes and images of Rainbow Dash and Sunny Daze but they were cheap knock offs so I guess some companies do outright steal designs for their own profit but maybe it's a pony that was sold in a bath or gift set or something? I know those were much lesser quality than the store releases. I hope someone else has some better answers. Very mysterious!  :whoa:

The smaller size makes me go fakie... and we all well know that fakie makers can be sloppy with removing Hasrros markings.
I'm gonna go grab a chocolate bar and wait this one out for the experts answer...

I have a fakie with the same stamp on her foot, so yeah, some knock-off makers didn't even bother removing the Hasbro mark from the mold. So yup, she is most probably a fakie too ^^ cute though!

Yup, Jamie is quite distracting... LOL!

It's a lovely fakie. Did you get her off of ebay? It's curious I've never saw one like her around here and we had our share of them available...

I found her at a used toy shop in some town near Seattle when I was visiting my sister last year. Don't think I paid more that two dollars for her (knowing full well that she was probably a fakie) and she even came with that hat!

I'm 100% sure is a fakie, because back at G3 years we had LOTS of her boxed in a store and it was a fakie box

Yes she is a fakie :) There were a selection of them out - all the same symbols but different body colours - if I remember right she also comes in white and in green.

Nice find!

I remember glitter fakies in G3 mold being found that came with stickers for symbols. They were in Sunny Daze II (?) pose. Everyone was buying them up just for nostalgic value lol
