Petites, fakies or Fakietes?
« on: March 16, 2014, 05:23:56 AM »
Hi everyone.

Today a friend of mine, found two curious sets of pony items at a local street market.

It seems like they are very well made Petites fakies and i'd need your opinio about them.

Here's some pics:

From what i can learn from the description, they have print like bottoms, as the euro petites, but don't know if they are the same mold as the real ones.

As for the symbols, i cannot understand the one on the first one, the second one has a flower and the last two the exact same star.

Here's a draw made by my friend.

What do you think?
Fakies 100%? Leftovers?

Thank you for the help!

What a cool find!

They look like the official Hasbro molds to me, other than that I don't know what to think. Either way they are amazing!

Personally I wouldn't open anything until I knew the full story, value, rarity etc.

I agree with Little Fox, I wouldn't open them just yet, but what an amazing find, I have never seen fakie petites before, maybe a collector of fakies may have some more info for you :)

Well I'll be darned.  I collect the "stamper" petites.  In fact, I just got my forth one in the mail today.  And that fourth one is the purple pegasus with the red hair seen in that picture.  Mine has a crescent moon and a star as her symbol.

I've always thought these were legitimate petites that were exclusive to some European countries.  The Petite Pocket's had them listed for years:
http://www.ponylandtours.com/PetitePocket/europe.html

I got one in a huge lot of accessories from some European country(forgot which) about 15 years ago.

I can tell you this about what I have and what I'm seeing:

I have two pegasus petites.  Both have the same symbol(crecent moon and star).  One is purple with shocking red/orange hair.  The other is pink with dark, dark blue hair.  The pink one has an identical color scheme to the pink/blue one in the picture of your MIP petites.

I have one that's mint green with pink hair, and she's identical in color to the green/pink one in the photo.  She has the star and three lines as her symbol.

The forth petite I have(the one that I got in that lot all those years ago) is the one that's pictured in the Petite Pocket.   The picture on the website is of my petite.  I sent it in a loooong time ago.  That one's different from the rest of the petites shown there.  The colors aren't the same as anything in your picture, and the symbol is a bow, not anything celestial.

From what I'm seeing, it looks like color schemes and the symbols are repeated, just the molds are changed.

The quality of the plastic for MY petites is pretty much the same as the quality for the regular ones.  In fact, I've owned that yellow petite for 15+ years, and I've never seen anything on it to make me think it was anything other than a genuine petite.  I'm a bit miffed about this right now because I just paid a heinous amount of money for that pegasus petite:/  It's neat and all, but I'm not particularly happy that the pride and joy of my petite collection could possibly be a bunch of fakies.

Has anyone ever seen the European stamper petites in actual Hasbro packaging?  Are there real stamper petites, or are they all fakies?  I can tell you that these don't look fake when you open them.  They look completely legitimate.

I thought we were always a little suspicious that the stampers were not official? Very few of them have ever turned up and they have never been found MOC or listed in any material which advertised/promoted the petite range which always makes things a little suspicious.

They do tend to sell for a pretty penny however when loose because they are very close in appearance and quite sought after. It is very cool to see them finally in their packages! :)

I think that might be the proof that the stampers are not an official hasbro-product. The package does not show any sign of a hasbro-licence.
They are very cute though! :) great find!! Dont open please, a lot of (fakie) collectors will give their right arm for it!

Well, they look like Petites and the photos used on the backcard look official, but that artwork, logo and branding is rather *off*. Is it Sebby6 with a collection of stampers??? Definitely keep them on card :) I had a quick look for Globo but nothing much (I had other fish to fry lol)

Yup looks like those suspicions have finally been confirmed with this lot and I agree they look amazing!

No they look like a fakie product for certain. Globo is an Italian toy manufacturer; they seem to have a few brands which look like takes on other popular products [Sindy, etc]. DAG had the distribution license for MLP throughout G1 and even if someone else picked it up they would have put MLP on the branding somewhere. Sure they used the MLP font and style of packaging but nothing else actually suggests MLP branding.

SoSilver, out of curiosity is there a date of any kind on the packaging?
