My collection started with a blind bag Rainbow Dash. Then a lone Wave 1 brushable Rainbow Dash. Just picked up on a whim at a start-of-the-college-year Walmart trip.

And from there I joined here and my collection exploded. Most of my G1s are from one flea market trip, only now are G1s from here catching up.

This is pretty cool to see this all :) Well back when I started to collect ponies in 2006 I started out with about 20 and went way over that! I think that I got to 300 but I cant remember? I sold them all off but 10 back in 2009. I came back in 2012 and now I have over 400 ponies. I did get close to 450 but that was way to much for me. I have to move all my ponies and don't want to have a lot to move.

This is back when I got int ponies again in 2012.

I went on a shopping spree and bought all of the G4 ponies.

This was mid way though.

These are the newest pictures that I have taken. I don't have any up to date ones. Some of the ponies I sold and I have new ones that are not pictured.

It grows pretty slowly now :) I am at the stage of only looking for upgrades so I am pretty picky and a new pony turns up very seldom. Now merch, paperwork and accessories...thats a whole other story :P

My herd has been growing very slowly the last two years. Before then it seemed to grow a lot faster. This year it's been maybe 3 ponies a month and most are not new...

I only officially started collecting this year.  It started with a trickle of blind bags, then a few handfuls of G3`s from thrift stores. a couple G1s from thrift stores.
Then it exploded with G1s in October. I got my tax return and went ebay crazy.  I got about half of the US G1s at once   :dropjaw:
My husband banned me from buying any more ponies for months. (I snuck in a few from thrift stores)  :cloud:
Then a private lot of accessories/playsets/ponies came up on a payment plan. It took a month of begging, but he finally let me buy them...well start buying them. So theres been another huge explosion.

My daughters pony collection has been growing steadily since I got pregnant. With batches at christmas and her birthday.

It is pretty much growing and growing since July 2012  and by the end of 2012 I was done getting all the  g4 releases and jumped into G1's  for few ponies and also G3's

in 2013 I went into G2's and although I tried to come to a stop at 100 g2's I did not stop, Been finding many moc of the ponies I have loose and or upgrades for the ones I have, the hard part is get rid of the doubles and I'm trying to sell some of them.
Keeping up with G4's makes the herd grow steadily :)
July 2012
these 2 were the first ones on the collection .

^^ tell me about it... I'm definitely a sad shopper! although I do check ebay every day (you never know when something you need will pop up for cheap, okay?!), I just tend to buy more when I'm sad, depressed or tired. Ponies make me happy, and cleaning them gives my hands something to do!

I actually just counted the ponies in that first pic - 178... I now have over 500, not even two years later, eek... I wonder how much I've spent? Scratch that, I don't want to know!

Hahaha, a BB Rainbow Dash started me too!  My collection is still pretty small, but it's been creeping across my shelves slowly.

Its been something watching your collection grow and grow. Mine did the same thing when I came back to the hobby. Now its slowed done a lot. In the last 3 months I have only gotten 13 ponies. That is not very many. I was getting 15 plus ponies a week for a while there!

My current herd started in the spring of 2012. With a single BB from Wal-mart. Purchased during spring break shopping. It was a whim.  While I had been an active G3 collector, when the gen was brand new. I'd taken a break from MLP till 2012, mostly due to real life.

Fast forward to now and I have twenty-ish BBs, two G1s (from a swap here) and one G3. My herd is mostly BBs because I have limited space and funds. When I do add one or two it's by random. :P

I love the chance involved. If I get an doubles their re-homed.

My collection had a huge boom about a month ago, shortly after I picked up collecting again and started thrift store hunting, then purchased a huge lot from a friend and fellow collector who needed to majorly downsize and get some extra cash in order to move out of country for a year. So my collection doubled in size over the course of 2 weeks. :whoa:

Now it's just a very slow trickle of whoever shows up at the local Value Village and ponies on my (pretty small) want list when I can afford shipping.
