Anyone remember the pacman show? yes there was a packman show, and a battletoads show!
I take it you mean the old one, and not the new one? Yeah, I remember the pacman show vaguely.
I will confess to being a brony, but I assure you that the things you may not like about them do not apply to me, I mostly keep the fandom name due to nostaligia, but I do genuinely love MLP as a whole, not just FIM, and not just the popularity of FIM - I genuinely love the show (and all the others)

Though I didn't see them as a kid, I'm curious: does anyone remember Ringing Bell (an anime film about a lamb who seeks revenge by becoming a wolf- extremely intense for kids) or Last of the Curlews (the first ABC Afterschool Special, and a pretty devastating story; I think it only aired in the U.S. in the early '70s, but later in other parts of the world)? I'm curious if anyone remembers them.

I found Ringing Bell about two years ago via youtube. That was a very beautiful film. Dark, but wonderful.

It's coming to DVD!!!  I'm so excited!!

I LOVED Ringing Bell!

Ooh, I missed that news! I honestly didn't think this would ever leave VHS- so glad that my DVD collection of awesome animated films will be completed! (Once Curlews also gets a release, which it's supposed to eventually.) I'll have to pick up the Unico Blu-ray, too.

I loved Pappyland. I had a professor in college who reminded me of Pappy. I also loved loved loved Maple Town to the death of my vhs copies.

As far as movies I loved Watership Down, which is obscure in the US. Not much of a kids film with the swearing and violence.

The Worst Witch (from 1986)- has Tim Curry in it! lol It's an odd little movie

I'm 99% sure Harry Potter was inspired by Worst Witch

Oh i love both of those films. I remember reading The Phantom Toll Booth in gradeschool. I have a copy lying around one of my shelves.

For me I'd have to say Once Upon a Forest. I watched every time I went to my grandparents.
Also Charlotte's Web 2.

I loved once upon a forest when I was little. I saw it and bought it on DVD not too long ago :) ooh this also makes me think about other different movies I loved when I was little like Fern gully, the princess and the goblin and a troll in central park

I love reading this topic- brings back so many memories. :3 and it makes me happy that I am not the only one that remembers a lot of these shows. xD

Did anyone else ever watch the show "Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child"? It aired on HBO years ago in the 90s (it still airs now on HBO Family every morning), and was basically classic fairy tales but with a multi-cultural twist. Such as a Chinese version of The Little Mermaid, African version of Beauty and the Beast, Spanish version of Cinderella, Native American version of Snow White, ect. The show also had celebrities voicing characters in each episode. xD

Anyone know about Gullah Gullah Island?

I don't think I ever watched it but I remember commercials for it. I was never a fan of live action / puppet shows excluding really popular ones.

I watched that show religiously when I was a kid.  The on-location filing they did was in and around my hometown :3 (I live in Charleston, SC.  Filming was done in Charleston, Beaufort, Mt. Pleasant, Kiawa Island, Edisto Island, etc)
Ditto - GGI was my favorite show on Nick Jr. as a kid (i still have mad love for that show), and at the time I lived in Charleston as well (my mom's family live there) so I always got a kick out of the episodes where they would film at places I've been to.
I wish the Nick Jr channel still aired the episodes - they would air them at 4am every night/morning, IIRC.
Thank you so much for the adoptable, Corona! :D

Hey I remember that version of Peter Pan. Haven't thought about it in years.
Mighty Ducks! Yep I watched it (and they are my favorite NHL team).

Anyone watch Carmen San Diego? There was a cartoon show and a live action game show.

Most of my fave childrens tv programmes weren't that obscure, by English standards anyway, (Battle of the Planets, Bananaman, Superted, Jimbo and the Jet Set, the Family Ness, Spiderman and His Amazing Friends, Dogtanian, etc) but I watched children's TV avidly til I was about 19 and went to Uni and didn't have a telly! Apologies if those have already been mentioned.

More obscure progs shown in England included:
Scragtag
The Wilde House
Hedge and Mo
Fast Forward
Breakfast Serials
The Children of Fire Mountain
Escape from Jupiter

Cartoons:
Fantastic Max
Potsworth and Co
Rude Dog and the Dweebs
The Biskitts
The Paw Paw Bears
Littl' Bits
The New Shmoo
The Puppy's Further Adventures
Bravestarr
Fonz and the Happy Days Gang
Godzilla (and Godzuke)
Pole Position
The Poddington Peas

Oh, one of the directors/Writers/animators of 'The Animals of Farthing Wood' was friends with my art teacher at school, visited school and showed our A-Level class a lot of the drawings and cells, and even came to a barbeque our teacher had for us! Nice guy.
