Taking the head off is a lot easier as it will help keep the wing tap all connected. First I make sure the square part connected to their back is completely loose by taking a scalpel all around it. Then I take the head off and using a small needle nose plier reach in and right under the tap push up and at the same time, I have another plier to help pry up the tap through the hole in their back. You have to be careful not to grab and pull to hard because their back center piece can be broken off from that tab. Once it squeezes out of the hole, you can remove the broken wings and insert the new ones

Hope that all makes sense to you!
