I just want to say a thank you to the artists... (Show me customs!)

Okay, I posted another Show Me thread but I don't think that the topic is really.. all that explored by customizers here, a few have popped up there but.... This topic however, I've been wanting to post for a few weeks now... so, please read:

I want to say thank you to all the artists, customizers, rehairers out in the world... I want to say thank you because your artistic talent is saving these ponies from being thrown out, turned into recycled pop bottle tops or plastic lawn chairs. The fact that you can take a pony who's beyond "saving" for normal display purposes and transform them into a beautiful and amazing piece of art... well you're saving that pony and keeping it a pony by doing this!

I was talking to a friend of mine who collects coins. He said that he wishes he could find a community like ours, where he could only sell to collectors and not to people who were going to use the coins for other purposes - i.e., melting them down for the metal itself. Now, he brought up a great point - when you melt down a coin, it's no longer a coin of any kind... it's over for it being a coin...

But with ponies... when they get to the point of being discarded, ground up or thrown away - we have artists who come to the rescue and turn them in to customs. And that keeps them PONIES, and doesn't let them go away. They're still ponies even if they're not factory.

So, what I wanted to say was THANK YOU for all the artists who do this, THANK YOU for taking the time to save some of these poor ponies and make them beautiful again!

And what I wanted to see is... Show me customs that have come from ponies who were just in AWFUL condition, ready to go in the trash if you couldn't do anything for them - maybe they had missing parts, or covered in marker, or burnt or you only ended up with a head... etc... - show me the transformations if you have Before/After pics too! I want to see how amazing our community of customizers/rehairers etc. is!

I can post my own I just didn't know if I should start out the thread.

And let me say, I'm NO customizer in the ranks of you guys here... but, basically my dog got ahold of my Baby Sunribbon and chewed half her face off. I was so sad!

And so I had to basically resculpt her face (and I SUCK AT SCULPTING) so she does look wonky,  - At first I was going to make her into something else where the mouth shape and kinda face shape I gave her would've looked better, but then I was overzealous with that and just, was happy that I closed the dang hole on her face... and left her alone. So this was my first ever body repair, face sculpt, and then customization into this crazy, sculpted Steampunk-Victorian Baby... she's NOT a great custom by any means. I pawned her off on my mom as a gift, lol 'cause what mom can say no to something their kid made?!

got this poor girl in a bait set off ebay for 75p. she was originally another custom that was butchered to this. (I should add that they did not come from the original artist I have seen pics of what she looked like before and she was stunning back then before this happened to her)

I love it when people revive damaged ponies!  I've gotten lots that have headless or body-less ponies, and I can't wait to do something with them.

I wish I took before pics, coz a lot of mine were really throw out quality, this one had a big chewed chunk out its back so I made it a merpony. AGES ago

I am stalking this thread! I wish I had a custom that was recycled and brought back to like to show, but I do not sadly. All my customs have been made from perfectly healthy ponies xD So many lovelies already! And Sunshine, btw, I think you custom is GORGEOUS! You don't give yourself enough credit

Howdy!
I'm Johnny the beach boy. I really enjoy surfing or just lying around at the beach heaving some cocktails with some hot beach girls. Well I was made from a poor Tropical Surprise and I only hat three legs so my customizer needed to sculpt me a new one well and covered it with a cool tattoo.
I got a great swim shorts (sculpted of course) and also a really cool necklace with a shark tooth. Hope you girls will enjoy my hairstyle as well?!
And how do ya like my surf board ~ it's also sculpted Now stop talking and let's go surfin' and enjoy the summer time!
