Seeking information- '80s/very early '90s plush animals with plastic cages

I figured I'd try my luck here, since Google is failing me- when I was a kid I received a plush blue bird (it was probably supposed to be a parakeet) that came in a blue plastic cage just large enough for it to sit in (not a great example of actual pet ownership, but cute enough for a toy.) It had a sticker along the front with a logo that included other animals in the same line, which I assume were of similar size and also had cages. Both the cage and bird have sadly disappeared forever over the years, but I'm really intrigued- yet no one else seems to remember these toys. What little I've found seems to indicate that they were called "Pet Shop Pals", but the problem is that almost everyone seems to confuse them with Littlest Pet Shop, despite the fact that LPS are firmly a thing of the '90s (I'm 99% sure Pet Shop Pals are '80s, though the possibility exists that they were VERY early '90s.) Even sites dedicated to such toys, such as Ghost of the Doll, don't seem to have anything. Does anyone else here remember these toys? I really miss my old parakeet toy (especially since I have REAL budgies now, who are all blue) and want to know more about this line.

I used to have a bunch of them when I was little and LOVED them!  Don't know where they are now though...

No they weren't Smooshies, though I had a bunch of those, too (had several stolen by a classmate, actually.) These stuffed animals were about a foot tall sitting, and the cage was only just tall enough for them to fit.

That does look very similar to the style of the parakeet- I think it is part of the same set.

I think they sold them at KB Toys but that is all I remember about them - sorry!

If so they were made by Tonka, I believe in the 80's.

Yes, that's the parrot! (I remember there were two birds on the logo, the blue parakeet and the red parrot.) Thank you for the additional information; I've never been so frustrated trying to look for information on a toy- it's almost impossible due to how many people think it was Littlest Pet Shop.

I had one,  I think I had a rabbit!  I remember the cage I had was blue and stuck around a lot longer than whatever toy came in it.

Edited to add that I found the one I had on eBay, it was a mouse.  It comes up when you look up Vintage Tonka Pet Store Pals.  So does the bird and a monkey, and you can see part of the cage in the guinea pig auction!

Ooh, thank you! I was searching "Pet Shop Pals" instead of Pet Store Pals, so I wasn't finding anything before. Never thought I'd see so many! There are additional pictures for the one with the cage, and I can even see my parakeet on the logo!
