What is the population of the city you live in?

I currently live in San Diego, which has about 1.3 million.  Last year I lived in Beijing which has 11 million.  And the year before that I lived a country town in Australia called Murrumbateman, it had just under 3000. 

So I've experianced a lot of different sized places.

My hometown (which is also where I currently live) had 26,016 full-time residents as of 2010... But it's a college town, so we have closer to 40k from August to May.

The town I lived in during middle school and high school had 2,985 residents as of 2010.

Having only lived in those two places my entire life and not really traveled much, it's always a shock to me when I visit California... So many people! And things! Though I actually do love where I currently live. We're not within the city limits and it's really nice out here. The only downside is not having access to certain stores (e.g. TRU) or there only being one of everything. (You want to go to Walmart? Well you'd better hope the only one in town has what you need!)

Born and raised in San Diego,CA. While a big city it was spread out and I didn't feel so overwhelmed.

Lived in Pasadena,CA for a year. That was three years ago. Holy cow! Am not a big,big city person. That was insane. Between the traffic and all the people. Yeah,not missing southern Cali.

Currently in-between three small towns in Yolo county,CA. All of which are farm towns and on the small side. Though am over the river from the state capitol of Sacramento(477,770). Nice when I need to go over the bridge. But what I need is here and I love the small town (to me) feel.

Ironic that someone here is from Ok City,OK. I've got family there and was supposed to move there when I was a kid. Want to talk about small town? My Mom was born and raised in one. That was so small the whole population was 100 folks. With one street and no traffic lights.

I live in Finlands second biggest city, Espoo, with the population being 259,383 (31 August 2013).  (I had do google too lol)

Living in Turku since 2007. The population is around 180,000 and I think it's the 6th biggest city in Finland (and the oldest! ). I really enjoy it here, Turku is much larger than my hometown Lappeenranta, pop. ~ 72,000, but it doesn't feel like a big city (well, it isn't, but you get my point...), there's just something cosy about this town.

I guess it's not just the population, much depends on the general "atmosphere" of the the city. Some big cities feel much smaller and cosier than you'd think while some not-so-big places may feel crowded and unwelcoming.

iceland's total population is roughly 320.000 people... of which around 200.000 live in or near reykjavík, where I live. to me it's too much though... I want to live up north in the 2nd largest town here, which only has around 18.000 people.

Currently I live in Sheffield, which has over 500 000 people. I love it though because only 20 minutes walk takes me to the countryside. I will soon be moving to Edinburgh which is roughly the same.

I have lived in larger (population>1million) and much smaller (population<50) places in my time!

I'm actually not sure how to respond. My home town is ~2million (Belgrade), however, I now live in Hafnarfjörður in Iceland. The thing is, here it's considered a separate municiplaity with just over 25 000 people, but it is also considered a part of the capital area which has around 200 000 people

So I guess I could choose any of the 3 categories

I did vote for over 1mil as Belgrade is still the city where I was born, raised and spent by far the most time.

Roughly 2,200 in the town I live in now, although we are about 10 minutes away from a larger town of about 6,000.  The thing I really like about this location is we are only about 5 minutes away from the interstate, so if we want to head to southern NH, Boston even, it's a straight shot down the highway. 

The town I grew up in VT had less than 200 people.  No school, no post office, etc. haha.  We went to school across the river in NH
