Pinterest problems?

So I deactivated my Pinterest account

I hadn't used it for ages, when a few months back I got an alert it was put into safe mode because apparently it had been accessed from another country, so I followed the password reset to deal with that and everything seemed fine. And it was like someone tried to spam one of my boards

Then I got another alert flag that it was in safemode again, because someone tried to get in.

So I've deactivated it for now, anyone else had this happen?

I don't use pinterest, but yikes! That doesn't sound good!

Hmm no I haven't had this on my account or my team one.

Very strange all i can think is it must be a hacker :/ why anyone would want to hack a pinterest account I don't no. Hopefully it is sorted now that you have reset the password I shouldnt think you would need to deactivate your account maybe contact pinterest alerting them to this

I think I'm not the only one it's happened to, it's like a spam hacker it seems.

I use my Pinterest quite often and haven't had that problem. Hopefully it stops happening to you.

I use Pinterest too and I haven't had that happen.  And I agree it seems like an odd thing to want to hack!  I mean it doesn't seem like it would yield a lot of personal info.

Yeah, mine got hacked too a couple weeks back. It was spamming some weight loss ads or something.  It's sooo nice that my pinterest is linked to my facebook account and these were published on my feed there too. Needed to go and delete them separately from the pinterest app even though pinterest staff deleted them from my boards.

That happened to me a few months ago. It was really weird when I was seeing all of this weight loss and exercise stuff that I had supposedly pinned. Someone told me that it was most likely just a bot.

Yup me too! I hardly ever use it...in fact I am not sure if I have every really used it. But it got hacked and spammed with weight loss ads too. I also had it happen to one of our company twitter accounts - I ended up having to use the verification code access in order to stop it happening again! So peculiar.
