Can someone explain PayPal to a nOOb?

I'm gearing up to make my first online sales, but I have this one last nagging question. I've done some research and I think I finally understand how I would receive money from PayPal, but I'd love to hear it in plain English from people who actually know what they're doing. *sigh* This is probably a very simple thing in reality, but I'm expecting it to be complicated and am therefore making it complicated.

This is my current understanding: I make a plushie and someone buys it. The money goes into a virtual account on PayPal. I then tell PayPal to take that money and put it into my bank account. I then withdraw that money and buy more fabric to make more plushies.

Am I in the ballpark here?

That's pretty much how it works. Link your paypal to your bank account and once there are funds in the paypal account, you can transfer the money into your bank account.

Yep, that's right. It takes a few days to actually make the transfer though. It's not instant, at least not in my experience. Or you can use the funds in Paypal to shop online for fabrics, etc. at merchants who accept Paypal.

Or, option 3, you can apply for a paypal debit card. Then you can use your funds instantly anywhere that mastercard is accepted.

I think you pretty much have it covered.  NoDivisions recommendation to apply for a debit card would be perfect for you though. It can take 2-3 days to transfer money from your Paypal to your bank and with the debit it is accessible immediately, so no waiting around to buy more material.

I don't mind waiting a few days for the money to transfer over. Well I feel tons better about linking PayPal to a bank account! You guys are awesome. So awesome in fact, that when my first plushie is ready to sell, I'll advertise it here first.
