UK pony con
« on: January 20, 2014, 11:29:11 PM »
does anyone know roughly when and where pony con is going to be this year in the uk.

I am really wanting to go so hoping that it is not to far south from me.... and booking time off work is getting harder so the sooner I can book it off the better

According to the latest on the UK Ponycon forum they've only just closed applications for the Committee and will be announcing it any day now. I would imagine details of this year's Ponycon will follow shortly after ;)

Well it was Cardiff last year so I'm assuming it will be the Midlands northwards this year, or maybe in the east. Which kind of suckas as I've just moved even further west! Really truly hope it's possible for me to go again this year, last year I went but it was a bit of a washout as I had hardly any money, was 8 months pregnant (had my baby the following weekend!) and trying to keep an eye on a narky (now ex) partner.

Just to let you all know - the new committee has just been announced TODAY on the Ponycon Board!
I will make a post about that in a little while to make it official here too!

I remember Ponycon was brought a little forward last year to reduce the cost of the venue (as they seem to be more expensive round the end of the year) - and it was in September. I'd be prepared for something similar or maybe even a little earlier, but who knows.

I am definetly really excited already!

xx

I am always on holiday at this time of year, this year I shall be in Weymouth, so I am hoping it'll be there, or Poole :) I can settle for Poole

Oooh I've never been to Ponycon :O If it's within a decent distance I might consider going if I can afford it :)
Idly searching for: loose, good condition G4 Blossomforth, Starbeam Twinkle, Plumsweet. TTM Celestia doll's wings Within UK or EU only, please.
Will also take in Pretty Pony Club (UK magazine) fakies.

I'm really excited to find out when and ponycon is, I was just wondering this the other day. I've been to the last two and had such a great time at both. Definitely worth all the train journeys  :)

Just to add it is DEFINITELY worth going if you can! ;)

I went last year not expecting much just to support my other half Clare (Clarabel Sapphire on here), but had such a fantastic time meeting people and even dressing up (yes, a 40+ year old truck driver in furry pony ears!  ) that it got me into Ponies and this forum  :thumb:

200+ grown adults indulging their inner 8-year-old is amazing fun!  :frolic:

It's always so hard. To make it a fair distance for everyone. I haven't been for 3 years due to costs and distance. Hopefully this I will be able to and with a pony friend too ;)

LOL Nappercasper, you definetly are not in a central position where you live. ;-)
I love it down there at the coast, but not very central.
For us everything was within 2.5 hrs in the past years.

Hope you took some good photos of your costumes, Paul!

Only the one photo that I seem to be using everywhere  I'm the sort of person that usually avoids any camera pointed at me

Strangely our "Trucker" pony has a blue bandana, hence the blue truck-print material I got, but everyone else's seems to have a magenta one?
