Sunfading or Eraser?
« on: January 14, 2014, 11:24:56 PM »
Some of my ponies has pen marks. Could sunfading help to remove them? If yes, how to do it the right way? Or it's better to use the Magic Eraser?
I've seen something like Magic Eraser in our stores. It was pretty cheap, but if it was not that I need?
Thanks!

recently i got a pony that had some big pen marks ,usually i use the magic eraser but i didn't have any left, so i used some baby toothbrush and toothpaste and rubbed the spot until the pen marks are gone. You may have to repeat again with patience!mine needed a good 15 minute and need a second round.Pen marks are gone 90% :)

It really depends on how deep the ink goes. Magic erasers are great things, but they're not really 'magic' - they have their limits and can only clean the surface of the pony. It's worth getting a magic eraser to try first (and they're dead useful for general cleaning anyway) but be prepared to sunfade, too.

I had a Princess Misty who someone drew zebra stripes all over her body with blue pen - I was able to lift a lot of the ink with the magic eraser but something also tells me that the pen hadn't been on her for THAT long (like, not 5-10 years), because most of the time you can see when the ink is "set in" because the edges of the marks are kinda fuzzy, ya know? But, after the magic eraser, acetone, then I had to go to sunfading. Acetone if you're careful (and don't use it around painted areas) can lift some set in things as well but, again, nothing is truly magic and ink is one of those stubborn things that can be a real beast to remove! Good luck getting your ponies all beautified!

Well, I tried toothpaste today, but with no results =( The mark became a little lighter, but it's still on. Gotta try the Eraser...

I agree with always trying the eraser first :) Its simpler and often works well. If you have no luck with that or other cleaners [I have had great luck in recent experiments recently with carpet cleaner :P] then sun fading is the next option.

You can also swipe the pen quickly with acetone to see if that will take the marks off - it doesnt always but its worth a try.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
