USPS package has been at "Acceptance" status for a week?
« on: January 14, 2014, 03:40:49 AM »
Like the title says, I sent an international package on the 6th that still shows as "Acceptance" today, the 14th.  It is possible it's just not getting its tracking scanned, or is it still sitting at the PO for some reason?  Calling the place I shipped it from (Postal Annex) has gotten me nowhere.

It's probably just not getting scanned.  It wasn't that long ago I had a package that was stuck on Electronic Shipping Info Received until after it got to Canada - it was never once scanned while in the US.

I am seriously starting to loose all faith in the USPS.  -_-

I am going to agree with Breyer, it most likely is not getting scanned. How was it sent? If it was not Global Express it usually only gets updated in the system 3 times. First upon printing the mailing label, second upon USPS getting the package and when it is delivered.

Have you tried calling USPS? They maybe able to better help, as I am assuming Postal Annex is just a third party service, correct? I have never heard of them so excuse my stupid question  :P

The receipt says First Class International Package.  I had Mr. Skeen send it for me, and yes, Postal Annex is a third party service.  They're much closer to us than the PO and they're never busy.  They scan the package in and then USPS picks up from them later in the day.  I did call USPS and sat on hold, and since I'm at work I had to hang up and, you know, work.  :P  I wouldn't be upset if it had stopped tracking at Customs or something but the fact it looks like it hasn't moved out of Tulsa in a week is worrying.

I have sent packages with tracking that never got scanned at all. It seems like their service has gotten worse in the past year.

thats actually pretty normal for first class international, they only scan it into the place where itll be sent to the international sorting facility. all you can do is hope the buyer is understanding

Where did you send it to? Have you tried using the customs number in the postal service of the country its going to?

Tiki - I can't say where it's going because it's for a swap, but I did try the number on that country's postal website too, and there is no record yet.  It's only been a week so I wasn't expecting it to me delivered, I just want to know where it is.  I have a horrible feeling I'm going to come home one night and find the box on my porch for some reason.

I think it most likely the package just didn't get scanned.  I've also noticed a decrease in the "scanning" by the postal guys.

the postal guy in our building won't scan in even the "acceptance" - so I don't get an update until the package arrives at its destination (unless I take my package to the actual postal center, and stand there and wait for him to scan it and give me a receipt).

So I wouldn't give up hope yet.
