Price Check - Paradise Estate and accessories
« on: January 05, 2014, 10:38:44 AM »
Hi guys, long time no post! I'm based in Christchurch New Zealand and 3 years ago I was effected by the series of massive earthquakes that are still effecting my life all these years later. Because of all the moving I've had to do and the downsizing, I'm unfortunately having to part with a few of my G1 collection starting with my Paradise Estate and most of its' accessories.

I have the basic shell of the building with the 4 rooms (with most if not all the stickers), pool, patio, roofs (sun faded to that horrible peachy colour and a slightly broken corner of 1 roof) and main gate. The inside only has 2 sets of doors instead of 4 but the rest of the window frames etc are there.

The accessories I have with it include all 4 ceiling fans, diving board, flowers, seahorses, pool canopy (with only 1 heart clip), 4 columns, 1 lantern for main gate, bed and blanket, dresser, 1 perfume bottle, floor lamp, table lamp (a little bent), sofa, chair, coffee table (with stickers), tv (with stickers), sink, stereo, toaster, 1 glass, 2 milk bottles, 1 plate, the crib with no mattress, toy box, changing table, duck pull toy (no string), stack toy, patio table, 2 patio chairs and 1 rainbow canopy.

How much is it worth now days? I've had it for about 5 years now - most of that time spent in careful storage.

Sadly with the fade perhaps $65. Shipping on it will kill any profits.

Yeah I'm inclined to agree, I mean you may get higher. But what I found when I sold my paradise estate was I got more money from selling the building and accessories separately!
Thanks to SDS for my siggy and avi

I can understand that, I'm not sure if I want to do that, considering I could have pieces left over.

If I did consider selling separately then what would be the estimate for all the pieces?

 I am so sorry you are having to continue to downsize your collection.

I agree with Chip and Party, the fading is part the issue and the shipping is the second problem. Paradise Estate sells high when it has all the finicky little pieces and is in nice condition but as soon as it looses the hardest to find accessories and the is discoloured or cracked it drops in price.

The danger in breaking up is that, yes, you will be left with parts. But I do agree with some sets like this you will make more in selling in parts and you may even get someone who will; happily pay $20ish for the shell.

Bed - $2
Patio Table - $2.50
TV - $1.50
Hifi - missing speakers? $1.50
Toy box - $3
Table lamp - $2
Crib - assuming its all there - $2.50
Sofa - $2.50
Floor lamp - $2.50
Fridge - $2.50
Swirl chair - $3
Armchair - $2.50
Complete fan - $2 each
Coffee table - $2
Duckie - $3
Stacker toy - missing top ring - $5
Milk carton - $3
Toaster - $2.50
Plate - $3
Perfume - $4-5
Glass - $4-5
Sink - $2.50
Flowers from pool - $2.50 each
Patio chairs - $2.50 undamaged, $1 damaged
Changing table - $2.50

You can sometimes also sell out the window canopies, sea horses from pool and doors. However this will leave you with a bare shell which is probably approaching worthless due to shipping costs and the fact it has been so stripped down. With the few parts left it may still be something will purchase.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

Thanks Hathorcat. It sucks having to downsize but it has to happen.

I've been out of the pony community for so long that I had no idea about prices and such so the guide you've just given me is very helpful! I'll try my luck with selling it together on eBay otherwise it might have to be parts.

Thanks guys for the help!
