A third g1 special?

Neat - I never knew about this before!  But I'm still not quite clear - is it animation for a Rainbow Pony ad that was tossed in as filler footage for the next special?  Or was this the only time that footage was ever used - in a brief blurb at the end of the RaMC home video?

I ask because I haven't been able to find video of a Rainbow Pony commercial to verify one way or the other. 

Both. I dont have the commercial on this computer but its only the rainbow slide moment which appears in the commercial. The other parts seen in the promo for the never released special are not on the advert.

omg that would have made my year, honestly i bet i have watched RAMC 200 times since a kiddy so to have another one out there that we haven't watched yet would just make me so so happy.
i love the rainbow ponies.

To me that clip looks way too random to be a spot for another pony episode.  It's cute yes but I think it was just thrown in because they hade it done, "the next my little pony adventure" could be anything.

Hmmm, a while back someone sold an old MLP VHS on Swedish site Tradera. I had never seen the title before and the auction went pretty high, so I didnt win. I have searched collectors sites that lists the Swedish titles of MLP-Movies, but I cannot find it there.. And now I cant find the auction either..

I think that the way Danny looked on the cover of EFC was how his initial concept looked when they were designing the kids for the MLP movie and eventually the rest of the series.
Perhaps the rainbow pony idea was going to be made the movie but was scrapped?
