Sad news indeed. He was such a great inspiration and has done so much for the world. I hope his family has come to an agreement to where to bury him and follow his wishes.

One of the most influential men in the world, whether he wanted to be or not. Can't believe how far the world has moved on since the late 1980s. Iron Curtain coming down, the Berlin Wall being demolished, and the end of Aparteid. Tried to explain Apartheid to a class of special needs children with moderate to severe learning disabilities and autism at my school yesterday. When we said that black and white people couldn't get married or live in the same places in South Africa then, several kids who could talk laughed at us and told us to stop being silly! They couldn't figure out why anyone would have a law like that...

Pretty sad news.

I didn't find out till yesterday when I was sitting in an airport. I hadn't been on the net or looked at any papers for a couple of days and I saw a woman reading a newspaper with a huge photo of Mandela on the front page. I knew immediately why he must have been there
