It's like being a brand new seller again...
« on: November 24, 2013, 03:10:42 AM »
Hi everyone,

I just sold my first item on Ebay for the first time in a LONG time with a BIN.  My question is, (and I'm shipping this out priority), would you use Ebay's shipping, or would you just go to the post office and mail it from there?  The reason I'm asking is Ebay is saying that the entire package is 2 oz.  I weighed it and it came to 11 oz after the item and the cushioning is put in a small priority box.  Is that going to matter if I use Ebay's shipping label, or is the PO going to send the package back to me with insufficient postage?

Thanks!

I use eBay's shipping labels everyday. It's convenient and you receive a discount on postage if you do so.

In regards to the weight you will have the option to change the weight and services when you go to print your label, so you have nothing to worry about.

Congrats on your sale!

The only way eBay can say the package is 2 oz is because the template you used said 2 oz. when you were setting the auction up in the first place. And like ponylady said, you can change the weight and dimensions when you print postage. Just make sure you pay attention to all of the options.

Thanks guys, I figured it out. I probably got the 2oz from weighing the item by itself and not item + packaging.

It was also giving me some insane prices like $23 for shipping...then I realized I was putting 11lbs and not 11 oz. Hehe. All done and ready to ship. Thanks so much for your help!

Glad everything worked out for you!  It's funny because it seems the more eBay tries to make things easy on sellers, the more confusing they make it.
