why is Celestia....

pink now? has anyone else noticed that she is pink in the newer sets? my girls are wanting the Royal Castle Friends set from TRU, and Celestia is pink!

I think that's one of the main reasons they are wanting this set, since she's pink, but they're also wanting Twilight since she has her CM is different and Spike is included in this set also.

Celestia has been pink in the toys from the begining. She's only had (I beleive) 3 white releases, and those are the more recent ones.

That's also an older set.. They're releasing white versions lately.

It's been a thing since the molded hair "gift set." All the recent releases are white though, correct?

I believe Hasbro is shifting towards white Celestia figures in their newest releases.  The Royal Castle Friends set that you linked is an older set - it was released sometime in late 2011, or thereabouts. 

The white Toys R Us "collector" Celestia was released late 2012; the sixth wave of blind bag ponies came out about that time too, with a white Celestia figure.  Early 2013, one of the Crystal Empire "Princess Packs" releases featured Pinkie Pie with a white Celestia brushable figure, and the Royal Surprise mini figure set comes with a white Celestia, as well.

So the trend seems to be that white Celestia merchandise is the standard for all new releases.  Unfortunately there's still a fair amount of older merch stocked on store shelves, so it'll be a while before pink Celestia is truly "gone."

If you notice, in the show she's actually very pale pink! (paler than the old releases, but pinkish nonetheless) Hasbro must have been confused when people raged over Pinklestia, haha.

my girls have the set that you mentioned Silver Glade, that's how they got their white Celestia. I guess I will need to get this set then, so they can have one of her in pink. they don't have Spike either, so they are really wanting this set! LOL

I do have some hope that there will be a future white release of Fashion Style Celestia-

Although I suspect that future fashion style incarnations will have the new wing design sported by Rainbow Power Ribbonshy (http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,344211.msg1005609.html#msg1005609)  unless of course they ditch that design before it is even released.

I think most know by now that Celestia is a pale pink- but she looks a LOT more like white than lurid pink, which they almost certainly went with in order to try and sell more toys to kids.  I bet they were shocked when the white celestia packs sold even better....

Yes this is an old release , Twily still a unicorn , she is a princess now

I see the pink celestia a a younger celestia . So it is nice see her changing to white as she mattures

I actually like when she is white but she almost has a soft pink gradient at her wings - I think that's the perfect combo for me

As others have said, clearly there was enough of an outcry that Hasbro changed Celestia from her pepto bismol shade to a more fitting for the cartoon white. Its only the much earlier releases which have her this colour; all her recent releases are white.

Interestingly as Galactica says it puts the possibility of a white FS as a real possibility. She is sure to get another FS release at some point - so will Hasbro follow the pattern and make her white or cant they resist the pink
