Pony horror stories
« on: November 08, 2013, 01:13:17 PM »
What's the most horrific thing you have ever had  happen with your mlp collection?
Seriously I have had some truly horrid things go on and i wanna see if its  just me or if any one else has this kind of issue.

Here's My story..

It started when i worked at this LOVELY place called acs..
I had three G3's on my desk. Pinkie pie, small wing Starchaser and Minty.
One day i come in and my ponies are gone and one of those Different letters clipped out of a magazine ransom notes is sitting
on my desk, politely demanding something out of me for the return of my ponies.
Now apparently who ever this is for got that there are security cameras there.. and that I have a bit of a temper.
need less to say i told the woman give me back my ponies or else.
She refused and threw poor minty into the trash and i never saw her again...
Eventually i got the other two back but nearly got fired for infighting.
I have to wonder am i the only one this happens to or have any of you been harassed or have horror stories about your collections.

Wow, that's incredibly rude. I'm surprised that stealing and destroying other people's property flies in your office.

what a horrible person. I'm surprised you held off from decking her o.o

I think the worst that's happened for me is I once kept my ponies on a shelf and it was too high for me to reach so I tried to climb up the dresser and it toppled and nearly crushed me. I do not remember how old I was at the time, but I am fearful of keeping ponies on high places to this day.

I too am surprised that HER conduct at work was acceptable... I am sorry you had to deal with that!

I definitely have been injured by dealing with my collection... large bins falling over on top of me... stepping on small, sharp, accessories... the worst thing was when I accidentally threw out my Paradise Estate Spoons and found them only hours before the garbage was picked up, and had to pick through all the gross kitchen garbage to find them...

I can't imagine after having that tape of her stealing, and having that note as evidence,
the boss didn't fire her.

I do have a story from the early 90's,
I went overseas for the first time, and when I returned, I found my basement/pony collection room flooded
under 4 feet of water mixed with red oil based wooden fence paint that had been stored down there.
Needless to say, it destroyed over 90% of my G1s. I sold off the remaining 41 who were on the top shelf and
survived by an inch. I didn't have the heart or money to start over again at that point.

I didn't start up again until G4 was around for a while. Early 2012.

Not a personal horror story as such, but I remember years ago someone admitting that they once customized a baby Sugarberry. Now THATS  horrific!!

The worst thing that happened to me was accidentally chopping off an inch of pony hair opening a bubble mailer with scissors

A lesson was learnt that day, and I had to sell the pony on to someone who was able to rehair her and I bought another :(

I've done something similar. I left a nick in a pony opening with a knife. :(

unfortunately the girl that took them was my higher  up.. so they got away with it. and there was a bit of racism at this place so yah i was kinda sol.
Needless to say i didnt shed any tears when about six months later she got me "Fired" for performance issues.
Found out the stuff they clean the comps with had CFLC in it.. and i was sick any how.. so yah.

Sounds like all of you have had a time too!
Awesome stories guys. And thanks for the sympathy!

Not quite as bad as some of these, as my horror story is fixable...but I came home from being away at uni for a month to find all my ponies' carefully styled hair had gone all poofy ;_; Some of them are in different positions which makes me think they got knocked off the top of my display cabinet but no one has mentioned anything =/ The cabinet itself has some rather expensive figures in it so I'd hope my sister just looked at them or something rather than someone knocking the cabinet hard enough to knock them off...
Idly searching for: loose, good condition G4 Blossomforth, Starbeam Twinkle, Plumsweet. TTM Celestia doll's wings Within UK or EU only, please.
Will also take in Pretty Pony Club (UK magazine) fakies.

I had so many ponies when I was little....I think about 60...yeah for a kid that is a lot. Well I was forced to box them up and put them in the attic...I got to keep 6 of them....years later when I wanted to collect again I searched and searched for that box. My mom told me that they looked gross and she threw them out in the trash....I lived on a farm so they were burned...yup about 50 some G1 ponies burned in a fire....Swirly Whirly and Milky Way are two of them....sigh someday I will have them.

Ditto. As well as blackmailing. If you have video (or other) proof of who did it, I would have pressed charges with the police.
