Do you ever just throw it away?

I'm running a charity here or something--Rachel's Home for Busted Pony Stuff.  Like Sunshine, I feel like I might be betraying the toy if I toss it out instead of pulling out some extreme hydrogen peroxide super-glue mod podge prayer circle cure on it instead.  So then I'm emotionally attached and I sell whatever it is in good condition and keep the busted, glued, bleached, prayed over unsellable version in my collection.  And then I realize that I want things minty, like most other people, and what am I doing??!

I was emotional about toys before I ever saw Toy Story.  They might be depending on me.

I've never been able to just throw a toy away.  And less ponies =X

Some have an honor place in my display, because I know no one will love it as it is.  Unless an amazing customizer can give it a new life =)

And customizing parts?  Nice idea!  Bad thing is I don't have any to try on them =X

I'm definitely guilty of pitching some things, but only stuff that's really beyond repair....except for g3 brushes - I'll admit to flat out tossing a bunch. (At one time I seriously had a gallon ziplock bag just full of those buggers)

More often, instead of pitching things I've donated them to goodwill.

And I've thrown away G3 pony brushes after I got like a hundred of them

Awwww I could've used those  I collect G3 brushes along with the ponies and I made a long chain of em  (I'm even doing that with my G4 combs) I think the G3 one is in my closet somewhere though 
The only things I through away nowadays are those G4 paper accessories :s

I've come close to throwing out G3 brushes... then my inner hoarder stopped me. I hesitate to throw much of anything out, because I'm a customizer, and I'm always happy to break something down and make something new out of it! Thankfully, I've gotten out of my 'MUST SAVE EVERY BOX' mentality - I just don't have room! (And a pony's no longer MIB once I've taken it out, of course!) But sometimes I cut out particularly lovely pony art, because someday I'd like to make a scrapbook of them!

On that note, if anyone has a trashed-out Dream Castle they'd like to send off for the cost of shipping, hit me up? I'd love to repaint one! (Just so long as it's not, um, a health hazard or anything... I've heard about people finding animal poop and maggots in pony hair!!)

I grew up about a hundred dollars from being on the street months at a time as a child so the one thing I learned at an early age is that you should never throw something special or useful away because someone might really desperately want or need it.
So, I have NEVER thrown something pony related away. Even if it becomes a problem (my pile of G4 boxes) which is a considerable problem :c

I always think that "someone, somewhere, might want something someday"

I don't know if I'd throw away anything early than G3, but I have thrown away a G3 Soda Float. I was going to clean her up. She had marker on her side, her hair was pretty bad, she smelled bad... then I popped her head off because I thought she has tail rust and there was  rust everywhere inside. I decided she just wasn't worth it and she grossed me out so much anyway, I tossed her.

I had a g3 bath toy that made it to the trash due to a crazy amount of mold.
There was no way.

I always try to give things away before throwing them out.

Same, I remember when I first started collecting I was excited for even the most broken or dirtiest pieces.

I try not to throw out anything, even G3 combs. I stick them with fakies when I give them away or sell them at tag sales.

I would offer all the pieces and bait ponies you don't want up for free (with shipping) and put in a big box.


Only pony things I ever threw out were old MLP Gummies I found *ick*

I don't think I could throw anything away either. I just either give it to the thrift store or try to trade it here.

When my mom felt I outgrew my toys as a child she would have a garage sale and then whatever didn't sell she would give away to the neighborhood children. I can't remember us ever throwing any toy away. That's the same way I am now. But I know everyone is different, that's just how I do it.
