I ended up picking up X and a 3DS a week ago, then I had to get outfitted for wireless at home, haha, but I'm playing and enjoying it

I doubt I have anything anyone wants in trade (I have Bulbasaurs and can get Polar Vivillions, but I feel like people already have those covered...) but if anyone wants to add me so you can do my Friend Safari, that'd be cool, and if it's okay I'll add all of you guys too It'll be awhile until I get to the friend safari but sounds like fun!)

Try chain fishing. That's how I got my shiny Clauncher to trade off. It's absurdly easy to get shinies.

1. Have a lead Pokemon with the ability Suction Cups. Suction Cups ups the chance of catching a fish. Inkay, Malamar, and Octillery have it. I use an Octillery I got from rayedelsol's Safari.

2. Stand in a corner facing water wherever you want to fish up a shiny. I have a five second MSPaint doodle to illustrate. (It's not required but it is helpful.)

3. Fish. Repeatedly. Land bites in succession to start a chain.
Things that WILL break your chain
- Moving from your spot
- "Nothing bites"
- Too slow to reel in

Things that will NOT break your chain
- Running from battle
- Catching
- KOing
- Fishing up a different Pokemon (ex. You can fish up a Magikarp, then a Horsea, then a Magikarp and your chain will be intact.)

Just keep fishing over and over and over and over and your chances of a shiny go up! Even if you catch a shiny, you can keep fishing and keep the chain going for more!

I'm the opposite- it got me to love Jiggly - I live when to lulls people to sleep then draws on them - If I ever find a non jigglypuff shiny want to trade it - I'm still looking for one in this game - I hope I'm lucky in that I run into one - I have with soul silver white and black 2

Yeah, before this game I'd never seen a shiny in any of my games. I'm really loving the safari.
