Just got a colored DJ on eBay for $14.95 BIN. They still have one more if anyone's interested. Now I just need colored Pinkie and Dash!

I have picked up 1 or 2 of these when I go to Target, and EVERY time I end up with a Pinkie Pie! It's like she's a curse.

I have been going to Hot Topic every time I drive by the mall, hoping to get a couple of the rare colored ones. But each time I go, the shelf is empty. Today, of course the same. But then I noticed one MLP box tucked into a box full of other Dr Who blind boxes. I was thinking: "Wow this one was overlooked! Maybe my luck has finally changed, maybe it will even be one of the rare ones!" I buy it and like a little kid I open the box as soon as I get out to my car.

I now have 4.

Dragonflitter, that is the worst luck ever! I think that Pinkie looks pretty neat with the black-and-bright-pink combo, but four is definitely a crowd!

Dragonflitter,  don't feel bad, you're not alone. All I need is the true colors of Rainbow & Pinkie, the black Lyra, both glow in the darks... The last 7 boxes I got were all doubles! I now have 2 black Rainbows, 2 black Pinkies, & 3 black Dr. Hooves  . Going to see about trading/selling to get the ones I want to prevent anymore blind box rage

ANNOUNCEMENT: I just stopped by TRU yesterday and found an empty box of the Funko mystery boxes! o.o I was not aware TRU was selling these, I thought it was only Target!

I think it's safe to say these are still super popular. I've been stopping by Hot Topic and I have never seen them back in stock, and I stopped by TRU Tuesday and didn't see the box at all, but on Thursday the box was there and totally empty. o.0

I kinda wish these collectors would stop buying the whole box and give other collectors and little kids a chance to get some of these as well...

Well I think they are marketed at collectors though, don't you think?  Whether they be kids or adults- Funko cashes in on the "catch them all" thing.   

The problem with NOT buying the entire box- is that you will end up with four of the same four characters- and none of the rest.  Thats why I bought the box.  I tried doing it the other way when Hot Topic came out with its own variations (by buying a bunch) but ended up with a TON of duplicates (the black ones which I sold at a loss) and swapped out the colored dups until I finally had a complete set.  What a pain! I wish I had been able to buy an entire case of the darned HT ones too...

I'm so glad I bought the whole box when I saw it because buying them randomly sounds like a nightmare, I also had a box from toywiz, so I still had to sell at least 2 of each of the black versions, but I did just fine and sold them for basically what I paid for them.

I totally understand what you guys are saying, I do understand that these were specifically marketed to collectors and not to kids. It's just sad and frustrating that I can't even buy a couple because every place I go to has an empty box sitting on the shelf. >.<

Another reason I feel this way is that I have a guy friend on Facebook (not a pony collector) who recently posted a frustrated status update because his daughter really wants the normal colored Funko ponies, not the black ones, and HotTopic.com has been sold out so he can't get any for her. So even though these are marketed at older collectors, that doesn't mean younger kids aren't going to hear about them and want them. And of course they're going to want the ones that are colored like the tv show characters, which Funko annoying made the 'rare' and 'exclusive' ones. :\

Sigh. Just frustrating all around.
