I wonder if a baby G1 head would be better?

She's about what I would have expected to be honest, though I agree on the head.

Book seems to really be stock images, but still nice. However, did notice that in the original packaging art (US - ours was dfferent here), they managed to include a set of ponies that were never actually produced!

I think she's cute, in an ugly sort of way, if that makes sense. I didn't order her but if I see her in the store I'll pick her up. I'm disappointed with Hasbro's "regular" pony line, anyway, so something different and G1 related (even if imperfect) is welcome.

I noticed that, too! Fairy Brights ;w; I so wish they'd been produced.

Hm, come to think of it, hasn't the Fairy Bright art shown up on some other retro merchandise? A dress, or something? Maybe I'm misremembering.

The book has been available in pdf form almost since the moment the product got listed on Amazon, although I dont think it features the G1 backcard art unfortunately.

Interesting that she is Hasbro made rather than 3rd party. LOL - after this and the retro releases...actually I think Hasbro can just focus on G4, I dread to think what they could have given us for a 30th anniversary. :P

The retro porcelains were a nightmare from start to finish. They were mail order and basically took everyones money and then took 6 or 7 months to ship the items out to people. The initial photographs were of Glory who looked really good but then right before they started turning up with people, Hamilton [the manufacturers] released another picture of the actual product and she just looked really poor. Her symbol was a sticker, the finish was poor, colours off - just generally they felt cheap.

Here are a couple of the old problem threads about them

hmm...just looked up pictures of those Hamilton figures. I had no idea they existed, and yeah, they look bad...although honestly, I like them a little better than this... at least their body parts are more in proportion.
