Weird hair on G4 brushables?

I recently got a new Applejack brushable and her hair is a bit weird. It looks matte and not as shiny as my other brushables. It has a different feel too. It's hard to describe but it doesn't quite feel as smooth, sort of like it's coarser.

Is this a common thing in brushables? I'm thinking that a different type or brand of the hair was used, but I really have no idea. Has anyone else noticed this in their brushables?

Yes, actually, but only on certain ponies.

While my Sunset Shimmer had the usual soft, excellent hair, my glittering Pinkie, Wysteria, Mrs. Cake, AND Twisty Treats all had this...horribly course hair that I needed a TON of conditioner to control. It definitely feels different than normal :c

My Sunset Shimmer has a very dry, brittle tail. Its quality is like that of a poor condition G1. Her mane is very silky, though.

My Sunset Shimmer, and a few other ponies from this year have had nasty tail hair... dry, scratchy ends. It's worrying..

YES! All the new releases with "face ridges" have had absolute frizzy messes of water repellant tails.    I've been able to tame them with a straightener and conditioner; however, the hair goes wild again if brushed when dry.  I am getting really nervous about the decrease in quality.

My Rarity is like this. It does hold styles well but it looks hideous.

I am guessing different supplier/different manufacture process for the hair perhaps. Unfortunately it does seem to be coming more common with this line. However, it also seems a little random as to where and which ponies get the different hair.

It's usually the tails, if it does happen. I end up watering them down and snipping the dry ends.

I have heard about the issue but never encountered myself. Equestria Girls Delux dolls on the other hand...oh lord save us.

Yes!  I've got a Princess Twilight that I can't do anything with the tail. It's like they use a hot knife on the ends to trim it. I've seen this on other ponies as well.

It's very frustrating.

My problem with hair started back in the Wedding singles line...my Trixie pissed me off because her tail just  POOFED with frizz and sudden dryness the second I put a comb through it. Same thing with my Favorites Collection Trixie...both have the worst tails ;A;

My Masquerade ponies all have horribly dry, frizzy tails. None of my other ones do that I've noticed, but then I haven't done much with my newer G4s yet.

I've been grooming some G3 acquisitions today and it's mad me realize that G4 hair is total bullshit.

So far the only weird hair I've had this year was on my shadow dash..they REALLY REALLY OVER DID IT.. with the gel... sheesh.
still shes very petty.
and i love her show accurate main and tail.
everything else so far has had nice soft hair.
SS has really nice
NMM has awesome hair.
All of the ones in my collectors set had nice hair.. even chrysalis.
