BJD design help!
« on: August 21, 2013, 11:17:31 AM »
Which doll should I use??

Okay, let me start off by saying I have been searching all over to find the best base BJD to use to make a Mami Tomoe doll from Puella Magi, the anime. I realized that Volks is going to be my best bet, but they have so many options, it's ridiculous! I don't even know where to begin.

This is Mami:

She's very sweet, cute, and..well, busty.

It's been so hard to find a head that smiles and has her cute eye shape too.

Which doll would you guys suggest and which heads/etc. I'll definitely get the super busty one. :P

What size are you looking at? If you're looking for a large doll then maybe SQ labs is your best bet for a head. Their heads are resin but fit and match the Dollfie Dream bodies (or they have their own resin body which is pretty cute) I think Madoka and Tachibana are probably the closest. I've been able to see a couple of SQ lab dolls in person and they're really beautiful.

I'm glad I could help! SQ Labs are super cute and I've often been tempted to buy one myself (fingers crossed for a boy body down the line). Be sure to show her off when you get her!

Wish the doll would be for me, but she'll be for my s/o. :)

You bet your buns I'll be photo spamming if I get her done. I knew about a lot of lines but SQ Labs I had no idea of! Thanks so much Sol!

After I get a doll or two paid off, I'm going to work on paying for this one. She's going to be fun!
