Ponies in a haystack!
« on: August 09, 2013, 10:37:43 AM »
It's awfully frustrating to know that there's ONE pony that is a duplicate that could be sold, but all that you know is that it's...somewhere...up there...in one of those rooms...stacked 3 ponies deep.

This is my G1 cabinet. I have another one that's a bit bigger than that, mainly for G3s and the few G2 and G4 that I have but it's still a work in progress.

Lovely display!  I have a small cabinet that I keep my rares in, but it would be lovely to have a large display like that with glass doors.

I have all of mine out right now in the basement :) I just cleaned out the will be 4th bedroom today. (feel horrible now, due to dust and allergies)  I will be making that into a pony room/ bedroom. :)

Here's my ponies. I have to say, I never have that problem. :D My ponies are organized by pose, so I know where to look for if I need to find a certain pony. Its not like it would be hard to see them anyway, but..

Vintargaten  - the cabinet is beautiful it looks like a museum cabinet :)

I would love to get glass cabinets. When my kids have stopped running into furniture..... hopefully I will be able to!

That's quite a predicament there Dewprincess. I have a foot stool that I have to step on to reach the high up stuff too! Nice playset there btw.  :o)

Hehe, thanks!  It kinda sucks that I don't have a good spot to display my PE, but it does make great pony storage :)

I swiped a chair from the kitchen to rummage around up there...found another few ponies I didn't need ;)

pony storage is always an issue. gotta keep them some place safe so the elements don't eat away at the plastic or fade the colors.
here's mine.
my grandpa made it for me back in the late 80's

but i have a different place for the "display" ponies. but that's a much smaller #

Shabbychicdee that is a very pretty display, is that your bedroom? Its beautiful. I never thought of using pretty storage boxes (yes, i am dim, sorry!) but thats such a good idea to keep them dust free and not have the "clutter" staring you in the face all the time.

Your G1 storage bin has the shiniest, most beautiful G1 ponies ever! I cant believe their hair is so immaculate!

thank you so much hun :) it was all in our bedroom but it was a bit much for poor ol hubby to look at everyday. now sharing hubby's man-cave, i kind of made a small room at the back of the garage.
the box thing started years ago with a couple of colourful polka dot ones and snow-balled into heaps, there seems to be plenty of them everywhere i go, especialy when i am combing the cheapy discount stores for g4 fakies. some of the small ones i use as pony display risers and double as combs and other accessory storage containers

Oh I see - you must have a decent garage then! Ours is leaking and damp.... with occasional mice and lots of spiders. I would not want to put a pony in there!

I got a little house shaped shelf unit at the charity shops last week to paint up and use for storage, I just noticed one in your photos!

Someone earlier said they organise by pose, I do that with my G3s, as its the only way I can find them again!

i love those little house shelf's, i have two now from and sunday (car boot) markets both for $2 each and have painted them up.
oh no our garage is dry, in fact i swear its the driest part of our house, its a tiny house with an internal garage all lined and carpeted and no bugs which is weird for Auckland, yuk not like our other house we lived in before....... shudders
