What things in your life make you feel more alive?

We found another happy thing. When the kids and I encounter a person walking their calm and friendly dog, and lets us get some petting and kissing from it. That happened this afternoon with a sweet little doggy named "Peaches".

I'll add a few:

Taking a walk around the neighbourhood at night, & looking at the stars when everyone's tucked up in bed.
Watching tv with two plump little guinea-pigs snoozing on my lap :3
Sitting under a tree in the woods alone, watching for deer
Lying in a sunflower field listening to my ipod
Being absorbed in a good fantasy book or film
Walking in a downpour (sure makes you feel alive!)
& of course, grooming a pony & making her look beautiful again!

This is a good topic 
Lately I am having problems to feel alive or at least to enjoy things so it surely does good to list all the things I normally do to feel good.

My list (in no order, just listed as it came to my mind) :

- listening to the sound of wind and rain or rainstorms
- putting a freshly cleaned sheet on my bed
- feeling a breeze on my face
- watching snow fall
- enjoying some quiet time with my all cats or just one of them
- being in solitude and silence
- quiet piano music while watching the world outside
- looking into my husbands eyes when the only light in the room comes from a candle or two
- playing board games with my daughter and my husband
- visiting fleamarkets or similar things with my daughter and my husband
- buying gifts for my beloved little family
- swimming
- watching animals and / or our pets
- playing with my cats
- reading my favourite books while my cat curls around my legs or feet
- seeing my daughter and my husband smile from their hearts
- riding
- being alone with my ponies, grooming them or just looking at them

Music, the weather. 
That feeling that I'm driving into a cloud city on my way to work as I ascend the tallest bridge in the city.  especially so on foggy days when I drive above the fog.
And the awesome view from the top of the bridge when I'm driving back home  I can see the whole city, and the cloudscapes and where it's raining.  At night it's like a thousand twinkling lights.

Live theatre
Music
Singing
Writing, especially when I hit a really good part of a story and words just flow
Spending the day with my best friend (wish this occurred more often)
Spending time with my whole family (wish this happened more often, also)
Finding anything neat at the thrift store
Christmas
Springtime (particularly April)

Disneyland.

A cool autumn day, when the sun goes down at around 7 or 8. 
Sharing inside jokes with my best friend.
Watching classic Disney movies.
Waking up to snow.  It's the best thing to wake up as it's still dark, and to see that light reflected from the snow-covered ground.

Just off the top of my head...

-Warm/cool nights where I'm able to have the windows open and the attic fan on
-Hiking through the mountains (which has to be on vacation considering I live in flat ol' Southernil IL lol)
-Having your team (baseball, hockey, etc.) win the game/championship --- or better yet, make a comeback and win!
-Eating corn on the cob that's crisp and buttery mmmmmmm
-Realizing that even though you've always struggled to make new friends due to being pretty quiet, it dawns on you that you made some awesome ones at your job (ones you actually WANT to hang out with - and who understand you and your personality!)
-Cuddling with my cats
-Finally finding that pony/shirt/WHATEVER that you've been searching for in every store lol
-Crisp fall weather - but not so crisp that I am freezing!  -- Having a bonfire in this weather in the evening would be ideal
-Listening to the rain on the roof and/or the wind creek the house...and smelling that rain!
-While, even though I love traveling and seeing new places, I enjoy how "at home" I feel in Southern Illinois   I am pride in where I am from.
-Inside jokes with friends
-Waiting eagerly by the phone and watching the news...waiting...waiting...SNOW DAY!!!! (I'm a teacher, lol)

Oh my!

Wet concrete: the way it smells. Lantern light at dusk. Liftoff in a plane. The sound of a mountain forest, and *nothing* else. Fresh coffee in the morning with a cat on my lap. Dull back pain after sitting hunched over an art/writing project for six hours straight. Therapy dogs. Dimensional analysis calculations (feels like knocking down dominoes). Running my toes over organic bed sheets. Roller coasters. Snapping the seal of a saline bag before hanging an antibiotic. Singing in the car. The calls of mourning doves, loons, and ravens. Well-executed card mazes. Biology. Stargazing from the desert. My boyfriend...all of him.

I love the smell of freshly mowed grass. I especially love smell of the desert after rain. Could someone bottle that scent and mail it to me?
