As for everyone saying that they have never seen a Pomeranian in this color, it would be unlikely they would. It's pretty new to the breed. However, if you Google merle Pomeranian, you'll find lots of examples of the color.

I was going to say the same thing.  How gorgeous!   I love your pics, she is a real cutie!

What a little cutie!  There is a breeder in the area breeding blue merle pom's but they call them 'party poms' for some reason.

Sparkler, "party" poms are actually called parti poms because they have white patches in the colors of their coats. This makes them different than merle pomeranians because they have an entirely different colors pattern. Merles are like a marble coloring and partis are patched almost like a cow. However, there can be parti merles, where they have the merle pattern with white patches in it. This is rather unique though and it's not something you can breed for specifically. A breeder gets lucky if one happens to show up in a litter.

You're not actually allowed to breed merle pomeranians in Finland.  Finnish kennel club says that blue merle dogs (in this breed) often carry serious health problems so thats why they're out of the breeding program. Or this is what I was told. Weird!

Don't get me wrong, im not saying your dog is like that!  I was just so surprised why I had never seen a merle pomeranian before so I had to find out why. Well, I guess that explains why i've never seen one here before.

Eldar: Serious health problems can happen, if a merle Pomeranian is bred to another merle. Some breeders are just not responsible I suppose and breed them how they want. This leads to a lot of deformities in the dog. Only my puppy's mother was a merle, her father was not.

Ahh, alright! That's interesting! Im quite interested in how all these genetics go. I only have labs and their colours are so simple compared to all these different merles. I believe the rule must be to avoid unresponsible breedes doing it just for money and ignoring health. I bet merle's are quite wanted. And I dont wonder why, your puppy is so beautiful.  :)

Eldar, you are right, they are really popular. You usually have to be on a waiting list to get one. I just happened to stumble upon a good breeder that had her available. Yeah, I have to agree, she is really pretty.
