Signing?
« on: July 27, 2013, 11:08:49 AM »
Do you sign your custom ponies? How do you do it--with a name or an artist's mark? I've been trying to figure out how to do my future ones.

I use both when I have room. I try to use Pitt pens since it's much easier than a brush and they don't bleed. Some things are signed "BD" and the year like G4's And then a flying bat taco or a dragon eye. I have changed things since I started lol!

I use the same signature to sign all my artworks with, drawings as well as customs. It consists of my initials and the year, often flourished with some kind of a curvy stroke. I usually use a Sakura Micron pen to sign the hooves. If the body colour is dark, I do it in white acrylic and a paintbrush instead of pen though.

The downside is that if my customs change owners at some point, it's unlikely the new owners will be able to search for me based on the hoof marking only... I'm not even sure the initials (AL) are legible. ^^'

I use a tiny paintbrush dipped in acrylic paint and sign P. Hills and the year.

I sign just my initials on blindbag feet, and on fullsize ponies I paint on my little swoopy signature. I just use super thin brush and regular paint. it's hard to read my actually name, but it's recognizable enough I hope XD

I always sign with my name and the year- full sanada ookami when there is space and just san when there isn't- and almost always in an acrylic color used elsewhere on the custom.

I try to remember to do it, but sometimes I'm so happy to get them finished that I forget to sign them entirely.  Usually it's just a simple "Coin Op Girl" and the year, although the last Starry Night pony I did has "Never Again - I mean it!" under a hoof.

I usually forget to sign my work. If I do I sign them with my initials (KT) and the year, or hannaliten and the year.

I usually remember to sign, tho a few have slipped past me! so far ive just been using a tiny brush and either black or white paint (depending on the darkness of the pony) typically I just write Eluluu on the bottom of the hoof toward the top, my -A. in the center of the hoof (that I sign all my art with) and the month/year on the bottom. ive been thinking of finding a good pen for signing cause having to wipe it off and try again when it looks sloppy is annoying.

I signed everything for the first few years, but lately I'm horrible at forgetting!  I paint my initials.

I usually just sign SoT or fully spell out SoldierofTwilight and the year with a tiny brush and acrylics.

I've been tempted to buy pens, but my hands are good enough for now. :)
I've also been adding a Thor's hammer to some now too.

I put the year on the bottom of one hoof and "sign" it with a " >^..^< " on another hoof.  It's supposed to be a cat (Kat) face, and is easier than putting an entire name because it's just a few quick brush strokes :)

I usually sign them both with my username and real name initials, along with the date.
