TruffleShuffle have new MLP shirts but are they using photos with permission?

Strawberry Reef is an Arena member but as mentioned, I am not sure all of these pictures are hers - I think a lot of them are donated to the site by other community members.

I know that iStock Photo and other various photo sites have MLP images on them, so they may have purchased them this way?  I'm not sure about the Strawberry Reef ones though.  I know there was a thing a few years ago where Tesco used a girl's picture on one of their t-shirts, and she had no idea about it until her friend bought her one with her face on, so it obviously happens, even with big companies

I just got the email today and wondered the same thing.

However, I used to work for a clothing company and sad to say designers and buyers don't care where the images come from - they'll use whatever. they're even happy to steal from competitors. Wish truffle shuffle hadn't done it though

After contacting TruffleShuffle on Twitter it appears that the shirt has been pulled from sale.

Bummer that your image got taken, relcelestia! I thought for a moment some of the pictures had to be yours since you take such clean photos of them. I worked in graphic design and white background photos like yours are easy to snatch.

You might want to start watermarking to save your pictures or at least make it harder for image thieves to snatch them.

That's good to hear! Seems like they're way better than the other notorious product idea and picture thief (small gore warning.)

those look so generic to me.. which i know the images are stolen.. But seriously.. who would even bother to buy these? I wouldn't wear that!

Really cute idea! To bad they had to resort to theft to do it. Why can't Hasbro use alittle bit of imagination and do this sort of thing?

I've had an e-mail from the MD of TruffleShuffle. The creator of the shirts is away until Monday so she can't look into the issue right now. She was apologetic though and it looks like she's willing to work this out, which is good.

In the mean time how do I contact Strawberry Reef? Are they active somewhere like Twitter? They really should speak to TruffleShuffle as well as ultimately the proof of copyright falls to them or the owners of the photographs.

However other than Relcelestia's Firefly, none of the images on that shirt are from Strawberry Reef that I can see. I have no doubt they are stolen from somewhere but not from that website.
