 My girl<3 My story isn't as great as others but here goes. I scoffed at her the first time i saw her. But then after seeing pictures of her all over ebay/arena I became possessed by " The Cult of Mimic"  so to speak lol. She's so unique among MLP unicorns( it bums me out so many are pink/purple or are in the same poses.) After losing 2 ebay auctions for her I bought her off a lovely arena member. Her horn is apoxy sculpted and her back hoof(she was attacked by a cat in a former life)but she's SO MINT otherwise her hair is soooo soft. I realize I could have bought two/three ponies for her price but I don't regret it at all<3

I do not have a photo of mine, but she is one of many childhood ponies that was acquired secondhand at some point.

I have always loved Mimic. I love the combination of her pose, colors and symbol. I am a bargain basement collector though, so I always assumed she was unattainable. Until I got her for my birthday from my husband! The best part was that he traded a 6-pack of Guinness for her!!

Then I managed to find Mimic at a thrift store last week.  I couldn't resist taking pictures of her with the Mimic that my husband got me for my birthday. This has been the year of bargain Mimics for me. The color is pretty washed out in these pictures. The thrift Mimic has a tail trim and is on the left.

Ok, here's the story.

Someone had posted Mimic for sale on Kijiji early this year. She had wanted a bit much for Mimic and a few other ponies but I had never seen Mimic in person and couldn't resist. I was willing to pay for Mimic so I had contacted her right away and she finally sent pics but I didn't hear back when I asked to buy the ponies. I sent a few more emails over the next few weeks but I didn't hear back from her. My husband was also contacting her about Mimic but he didn't hear anything either.

About one month later, someone posts on here with a lot of ponies including Mimic. It was the same lot of ponies and I contacted her here too. I mentioned to my husband that the ponies had surfaced again. So he emailed her again too. I got a response that she had already sold the ponies so I was disappointed, but I have watched many a Mimic pass me by on eBay so not much new there.

On my birthday, I opened a box with lots of Cadbury Easter eggs and some of that Easter basket grass. My husband told me that he put the expensive chocolate under the grass so when I lifted it up and saw Mimic in there it was a huge shock!

Apparently the seller's mother had passed away and that's why there was no response initially. I guess my husband had sent an email about me and my ponies and the fact that my birthday was coming up etc. The seller's mother and I have the same birthday (St. Patrick's Day) and because of that and the fact that Mimic is green, she decided to basically give Mimic away. 

That little green pony will always have a special place in my collection because of how I got her.

I'm probably gonna get hailed with all sorts of Fakies for this but my Mimic cost me a $1. Yup. $1.

I got Mimic at the local flea market in the late nineties .  I used to get ponies there every Monday - and usually it was in the numbers of 10-15 a week and yup they all only cost me $1 each. Mimic - which is the only Mimic I've ever found btw - was one of those ponies I had before I even came online - which was around 1997. She was one of the few that I knew the name for sure on because of the Golden Horseshoes episode.

My girl....she is not mint and has faded symbols and pindot but I love her. She sounds worse than she is I purchased her from the lovely lilcutiepie
