Rainbow Brite and Lady LovelyLocks are at the top of my "favorite '80s toys" list too. Just behind MLP, of course. ;) I had no idea there were LLL fakies. How cool!

Those LLL fakies are so pretty! I'd love to own one. The colors in their hair look great.

RBB actually had a semi-decent re-boot in 2002/2003 (with a re-design that looked almost the same as the vintage line) - it actually did terribly- I think the dolls were all on clearance in very short order.

I blamed the lack of exposure (no commercials, no marketing events) - but maybe kids/people just aren't into rainbow and primary colored almost chubby looking little girl dolls anymore.  They'd rather have skinny tween dolls like monster high (or Equestria girls...)

And don't forget the later re-boot of RB where she looked a preteen. I really liked those dolls.

Those were cute and I think sold better because they looked more like teens instead of little girls-  I would rather have a "G1 style" release- but since they've already tried that and failed, I doubt anyone will try it again.

It's kind of like ponies-  there are plenty of collector types interested in more or re-releases in the original format- but most of the purchasing power is not from collectors, alas.
