What do you think of JACQUARD products?
« on: July 06, 2013, 01:31:20 PM »
I haven't tried them yet myself but am really tempted to buy their metallic airbrush paint set as well as a few of their pastels.  Have you used them before?  What did you think of them?

Thanks!!!  :)

If they are anything like there dyes, they will be awesome.  I love their dyes for tie dying.  The colors are so much more brilliant and last better then other brands we have tried.

I haven't tried them, they sound promising.  Where do you find them?

They were using them at a local airbrushing place in the mall on fabric.  They look like quality products but I'm not sure how they will hold up... I'm also not sure how they would react to vinyl. Their powdered pigment looks pretty awesome too!  There definitely seems to be an emphasis on fabric application though.

Diamond - that sounds promising! Thank you for your feedback.  :)

I'm a big fan of Jacquard products.  They have a very nice metallic fabric paint, but as far as ponies go I really like their Pearl Ex Pigments.  I used True Blue for my customized sparkle pony Sky Rocket that I've shared here before, as well as another color for an unfinished custom, and they add a lovely metallic sheen to things.  Highly recommended!

I usually buy Jacquard stuff online from Dharma Trading, they have pretty good prices with reasonable shipping rates.  Hobby Lobby also carries a limited selection, and of course eBay is always an option!

Oh man how could I forgot there pigments, we have some of those and man they are fun.  And now that you mention it, I have some older fabric paints and newer metallics from them I am in love with as well.

I have several of their iridescent airbrush paints and I haven't used them in a long time since they took so long to dry on the pony and left them kinda sticky.

Ohhhh, this is good to know!

Based on all of your helpful feedback, I think I will try their Pearl Ex Pigments and skip the airbrush paint. :ohyeah:

I love the jacquard products - from the dye to the paint to the pigments - all very good!
