But I thought ___ was ___ color!

So I was looking around at different symbols or uh, cutie marks on ponies and realized that some that I had thought were one color are actually another! Take Bowtie for example, I thought her bows were white. Turns out they're pink! I think initially got confused because her freckles are white. Now what is also confusing to me is probably because of fading some symbols are in fact white.

This happens a lot with the pink/white thing, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had interesting slips with color?

I actually thought Mimic was white at first until I saw more pictures, and I still think she's way prettier as a white pony rather than that really odd shade of green.

I always thought G1 Applejack's apples were orange but they're red. My Applejack is just faded.

I thought Posey is supposed to have white hair. My childhood Posey is from flea market, and she had white, cut hair. I was really surprised when I wanted to re-hair her when I started collecting, and found out it was supposed to be pink.

I had a so-soft Twist when I was a kid.  She was gray with orange hair.  Come to find out her natural color is purple.  I also always thought Windy was supposed to be white and it turns out she's purple.  I always thought if ponies fade they would be a lighter shade of their natural color.  I had a white Windy, which I thought I still had but I must have traded her.  But, I have the anniversary pack that has Windy (who is purple) and Skydancer and someone else.

Some people say that a true white Windy is rare, versus a faded white Windy which is not.  To me her natural color is purple, but how does a purple pony fade so much it turns white instead of a lighter shade of purple?

I thought there was a different version of baby crumpet, one with blue symbol but turns out it's just faded. Who'd of thought the pink symbol fades to blue!?

Mimic is not green.  She is yellow.  Neon yellow. 

...I know I am in the minority here but it just weirds me out to consider that colour green.  It's like saying neon green is yellow.

My childhood Posey has faded hair but just a tiny bit of pink left in her tail so i suspected her hair was supposed to be pink. However I was completely surprised that her symbol was supposed to be pink too! My Posey has completely white flowers.

Yeah I have her plush and it's purple, the toy to me sort of looked like a sort of off white more than any shade of purple  and I think I've seen at least one 'white' version of her

there are some that actually have Orange apples (not faded). I have one, and another member has one - both Italian
