That color scheme is GORGEOUS, and I love that there's a new mold coming out!! Now I want a CMC-age pegasus and a boy pegasus...

Could they be upping the number of "special" ponies in a series from 3 to some higher number? I always though the Neons did have some special ones cause there were 4 (Gilda, Comet Tail, Lotus, and Celestia) that used 2 colors of clear plastic instead of just having painted details. Maybe this wave will have 4 specially painted ones or maybe even 5 or 6 and we will get a Fluttershy in the new mold. Or maybe I'm hoping for too much.

I definitely think we'll be getting Fluttershy's new mold in future waves. I mean, they already have it, why not use it?

I reeeaaaaaaaaally want a wave or more of rainbow ponies! I mean, a new trademarked name implies they're gonna be using it a lot, right?

Lol - he is very random with those stripes. I guess every one of us is back to the drawing board for speculation on the wave.

Although with such a unique mould I guess its possible he will simply be in a future mini figs wave?

Maybe the good Dr is part of a blind bag package set. Instead of actually being in a bag. Either way please let him be released.

Yeah the details of the mold used for Time Turner (or whatever name you want to use) makes me now think it will be featured in a mini set, rather than in a blind bag. The blind bag molds are usually a bit more generic in shape, while it looks like Time Turner's mold is specific to him (especially the mane).

So now I'm guessing he, RD, Rarity, and Cadance will be together in a mini set, probably called something like Rainboom Set or something. (Which is Hasbro's standard sneaky move anyway, to put a bunch of re-issued characters in a set with one new character so you have to buy the whole set to get the one new guy.)

It has not so far...but to be honest I do wonder why.

The BBC are crazy defensive of the Dr Who brand and its use. I think perhaps there is a major difference in this case in the name being used in merchandise [which includes Funko] and being used by Hasbro themselves. Their  target market remains little girls, I think Time Turner is perhaps more relateable for them. But then again with Hasbros weird pattern of decisions recently who knows.

The only problem with the idea of the rainbow painted ponies being in a pack instead of as blind bags means that the latest wave of blind bags won't have any special ponies at all. I know some people think there weren't any special ones in the neon wave but I still feel the 4 ponies (well one is a griffin but still) that were made from two colors of plastic were the specials. If they upped the number of specials up to 4 then there are just enough ponies for the next wave's specials.

It's entirely possible we haven't seen the specials from wave 9 yet. After all, wave 8 only just hit stores, it may be a bit early in the game.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is the Funko toy the only 'official' merchandise we've seen with the name Doctor Whooves? I am sure the trading cards label him as Time Turner. Possibly Funko is the only one taking the chance on angry BBC coming after them?

I'm hoping Time Turner gets to be his official name as well. It sounds much more like a real MLP name, and these fan names that don't have anything to do with the world of Equestria really take me out of the moment when I'm looking for merchandise on the show.
