The writing on the cheek could simply be because they were rejects or samples prior to production - as we know Taobao ponies are pretty much all rejects, therefore its not surprising that so many of them have so many issues.

Btw, I got a message from my Taobao agent that they all do actually have writing on the face. No big deal for me since I'm using them for custom bait, but thought y'all would like to know.
