I want to try using a tool as well. I used to do the needle and thread method but it takes so long!! But I do like not having to worry about hair coming out without glue! :D

Some great tips in this thread!

thanks everyone. :)
right so i'll go get some tacky glue when i can and see if that works.
i didn't knot the hair no as the tutorial i was watching just stbbed it right in but i might do it next time. i plan to do the lock loop method next time. :)

If you're using a reroot tool DON'T knot your hair.
It will only tear and split the plug holes.

Knotting is only for the needle and thread method :)

Actually it doesn't. But I widen the holes before hand and let it stretch on it's own. If the knots are too big or you're going around shoving them in willy-nilly I'm sure it's possible, but I have never had this happen on all the customs (on all gens except G2) that I've ever done. I'm also very gentle and wiggled the knot in instead of just jamming it in.
To each their own but it works for me.

I switch between hot glue and fabritac, depending on what I'm doing with the hair.  If I plan on using pins in her hair, I'll use the fabritac, since I have an easier time getting the pins in when it's not a solid chunk of glue like the hot glue can do.

I love hot glue for G4s since the plastic can be so stiff. The hot glue heats up the heat just enough to squish it around to make sure it covers everything and heats up the neck joint at the same time with the glue gun tip to soften it up so you can pop the head back on easily;) Never tried the other glue, does it take long to dry? I'm very impatient which is another reason I like the hot glue, dries quickly!

All my this. Fabri-tac can take many days to fully dry. Yeah. No thanks.

Also the thing about it having acetone in, I did not know. More reasons to give my glue gun more love.
